Has Alchemist surpassed Havoc?

With Havoc he has two undeniable production classics in The Infamous and Hell on Earth. Alchemist doesn't really have anything on his CV as timeless as those two despite his stellar work. But what Alchemist has on Hav is longevity. He's been putting work in since the late '90s and still hasn't really slowed down.

Hav beyond a track here or there hasn't really been hitting in damn near 15 years. It says a lot that Prodigy's best work has been his solo albums, not the Mobb albums since 2000.

Beat for beat Alchemist wins easily for me.

yea, he just networks so well and has put out so many memorable collabs

he's never going to have the classics, i personally love the Insomnia tape among others but they arent hip hop classics. so in that aspect Hav gets his due, but track for track id have to give it to Al.

I mean after Murda Muzik i dont know what happened to havs production, he went from regular stone cold classics to mediocre beats real quick ... i dont think ive heard many hav beats that had me in the last 10 years

where as Alchemist has flooded the game with classics even to this day, I mean when did hav last produce something on the same level as Terry

I think Hav is the better producer Alch just network more and work with more artists.

Also look at who produces the majority of Prodigys songs now, Sid Roams and Alchemist.

Both of those producers do Havoc beats better than Havoc himself does

Alchemist and Prodigy album shytted all over anything that came out after Murda Muzik. And Alchemist arguably had one of the best beats on Murda Muzik too and shyt was a two bar loop

Alc is ten times better today and way more consistent overall but it's hard to place him ahead of someone who has The Infamous and Hell On Earth on the resume. I'll give Hav the nod solely due to those albums.

Alc is running shyt right now tho. Been the best producer in the game for awhile.

But Hav has The Infamous under his belt. When you have a classic like that in the stash, you're damn near untouchable.

Havoc peaked at a really early age, and while he made classics at such a young age, a true great producer is supposed to get better as he goes on, like Dilla, Kanye, ALC, Madlib, Dr. Dre (IMO), DJ Quik, etc.
