They probably won't during the interview process but they definitely will if and when you're hired.

It's better to come clean before it gets to that point.
There was a MIThead of admissions person who lied on their resume about their PHDs. They didn't get caught for over 20 years. They don't check for shyt.
You can lie but do it wisely. List companies you worked for but put fake positions that are related to the position u are applying for. When I was applying for IT positions all my data entry and customer service jobs magically turned to IT Customer service and data analysis positions.

All they can do is verify that you were employed by the company based on the dates it says on ur resume. I think its illegal to disclose details of ur previous employment such as salary, position etc.
Idk if it's illegal it's just a huge legal liability if they say anything other than your employment dates. Opens them up to all types of lible, slander, defamation, etc lawsuits that most companies would rather not deal with so they just don't say anything even if you did work there and were a shyt employee, they still won't say anything.

I did and even told my supervisor. She said it wouldn't effect me keeping the job and I'm still working there.

Live by the exception, breh....:heh:
obviously we will never get an accurate statistic about who is lying or isn't lying or their resume's so what else do we have to go off of. There's plenty of people lying on resumes even some in this thread.

I know ppl who've lied about their employment on credit checks and they got approved. If done right, the chances of you getting caught aren't too high

Plausible deniability. Don't lie about anything that you can't easily explain away if shyt hits the fan.
Otherwise, a lot of people lie. The layers jobs are putting between you and working are out of control. I needed 3 references
for a Barista job:comeon:
I can't count how many "entry-level" jobs I applied for that required you to have previous work experience in the field. I'm like :why:, how much experience do I need for a job that supposedly anyone can apply for? It's like all these employers want you to have experience before they hire you, but the only way you can get the experience is if they hire you in the first place. What it is is that none of these jobs want to take the time to train new employees. Not even for basic ass positions.
Try getting a job at Nordstroms while answering the survey questions honestly and see what they give you. I got denied 3 times, so my sisters did the exact
opposite of me, with much less experience, and got the job. Learned my lesson. You gotta sell that sizzle, breh. Become that "perfect" candidate.
A few years ago I was applying for a job at JC Penney and I had to fill out this long ass questionnaire. And as always, they advise you to answer all questions as honestly as you can. So after I spent almost an hour filling this shyt out, I finally hit the submit button.........and then a page comes up telling me that my answers indicate that I am not a good fit for the job and I cannot re-apply until a certain amount of time has passed :demonic:. I almost punched a whole through my laptop.

But I learned a valuable lesson. Lie your ass off on those application questionnaires. Damn that honesty shyt. Tell them what they want to hear.

I haven't work since Aug & won't be able to work until Aug 2015. I know that if I find a job (inshallah) & they ask me about the year long break in work history Im fukked. I wanted to know if I should put down I went to college for a couple semesters & do they check that shyt :lupe:?
Taking college classes will leave some type of record somewhere. This is something that can be verified or disproved by a background check if they do one. So, I wouldn't do it just in case. Make something up that cannot be officially checked. Like, say you were taking care of a family member or something like that. Or just say you needed to take time off to reflect on things in your life.

Breh, it is fukking awful out here. Clerical type jobs where all you are gonna do is file papers and take phone calls asking for 3 years experience AND a degree.
:mindblown:WHO THE fukk WORKS ENTRY LEVEL CLERICAL WORK FOR 3 YEARS! If they have a degree, why would they be interested in that shyt?
I remember my mom getting on my ASS about not having a job some years ago. I was a fukking trooper. Get my resume, show up to places, and ask about work.
:camby:"Sorry sir, you have to fill out our online application."
It's fukked up because this corporate barrier is also being used in small businesses now. You literally have to get to know people up top before you apply so you can skip that
silly shyt they will put you through, only to deny your ass anyway. Electronic applications are the worst invention ever for people who need a job yesterday and have no experience
or have a gap in employment. It isn't like you can meet them and show you are a decent guy. shyt is crazy.

Yea, your best bet is to say whatever you need to say, long as it isn't too far fetched, and do a google search on shyt they require and learn fast.
I had a few jobs this past year I walked into clueless as fukk functionally, but took the first couple of days to get familiar and become the applicant I said I was.

If I can do it, 99% of people can. However, the influx of frivolous degrees and this flooded ass job market has them asking CRAZY shyt of you for brain-dead jobs.

To be fair, most of it is to weed out applicants since there are so many, but it is a ridiculous kick in the balls to people who just need work.

"In 5 years, where do you see yourself?"

Mothafukka I can pay this month's mortgage, but I might not be able to next month. I need a job NOW. Let me mop the goddamn floors, please:damn:

I have. Say you took classes at the local community college, they aren't going to check.
Volunteering is also great to put down.
