There was a MIThead of admissions person who lied on their resume about their PHDs. They didn't get caught for over 20 years. They don't check for shyt.

Idk if it's illegal it's just a huge legal liability if they say anything other than your employment dates. Opens them up to all types of lible, slander, defamation, etc lawsuits that most companies would rather not deal with so they just don't say anything even if you did work there and were a shyt employee, they still won't say anything.

Even college coaches. I remember George O'Leary got hired as Notre Dame head coach and resigned 5 days later when he got busted....lol

This is one of the principle reasons that if you can afford to, you should spend a LOT of time on the google self-teaching yourself random shyt. Been pounding out
digital media for a few months to compile a portfolio by March. Then i will have a blog or website up showing my work, do favors for friends and
businesses i'm cool with, and let the information sit for a few months. In the fall:

"I have been at this for years, but my commercial projects have been available for roughly a year. I did work for X, Y, and Z businesses, etc,etc,etc."

As long as my skills back it up and I have work in use by SOMEONE, I should be able to freelance my ass off by the end of summer 2015, and possibly before.

If you're ever in a position where you can't get work then volunteer or do something that gives you a record that can be verified later. You're doing yourself a favour in the long run.

This reminds me of this article I read months ago. This guy was the principle of some prestigious charter school in Harlem, and they found out that he lied all throughout his resume. These weren't small lies either. These were some MAJOR lies. Like him claiming to work under President Obama . And no one checked it!

What were you applying for and how they specially get you

It was some support gig I applied to in the summer of 05...one of the skills they said you had to know was unix..i used it briefly but was far from fluent...sure enough I was asked to show and prove on a terminal and was verbally asked questions on unix...that interview was pure fail cuz i could barely answer the questions or do anything..lesson learned
