Dead hangs.

Decompress your spine.

You don't need fancy equipment.

Don't need to go anywhere special.

Don't need any gadgets or clothes.

Work your way up to 2 minutes. It'll be harder on your hands/arms than it is on your back.

Thank me later.

Start stretching, and when your pain subsides, use an ab roller wheel in addition to your other core exercises to strengthen your back muscles

What was wrong with ur back… I have some low back pain that develops as the day goes… doc’s say it’s muscle strain but idk, thinking it’s bulging or herniated
Scoliosis, + aging and sedentary lifestyle, I suffer if I stay in bad postures for too long or got a dumb chair

Dynamic stretching was night and day for the pain, worked even better than dead hangs and other forms of stretching. I had to learn that I'm supposed to move my spine. Now I can efficiently prevent pain and deal with it on the onset

honestly buying a nice office chair was probably my best investment. I figured paying 1k for a chair was cheaper than paying for my back issues later in life.

Any success stories?

I have.

My back went out on me, really bad, when I hit age 30. I overworked it at the gym combined with taking stenography courses at night (which required hours of constant sitting).

Went to a doctor (who was fully license as a medical doctor, but practiced holistic treatment and lifestyle changes) and he diagnosed it as a pinched nerve in the lower lumbar region. He recommended warm compress and changing the way I slept immediately. He knew I slept on my stomach and he posited that sleeping that way puts an enormous amount unnecessary stress on my lower back and neck. He said to sleep in the fetal position with a pillow between my knees.

I did everything he recommended and the back healed in a little over a year. It was really rough though, especially driving.

I feel blessed to have had this doctor, had it been another doctor i'm almost certain they would have recommended surgery (which is 50-50 when it comes to backs).

I’ve heard from several people with years of severe lingering pain that nothing beats acupuncture.

I’ve never had it myself so I can’t completely confirm but I try to pass that nugget along as needed because I know that shyt sucks to deal with.

My back went out on me about two weeks ago. I was down for 7-8 days but felt more like a month b/c I couldn't do my regular housekeeping routines around the house. Then on top of that I can't workout while dealing with back pain. I have cerebral palsy & scoliosis. For some reason I was getting ready for physical therapy (ironically) and I went to tie my shoes and my back went out on me *smh*...

Luckily, I have a back brace (just bought a Tommy Copper) I use for the duration of pain and maybe two weeks after it. I also have a set prescribed muscle relaxers I use and Aleve tablets specifically for back pain. I have a cane to help for mobility until I'm certain I don't need it for use anymore.

For people that deal with back pain though, doing specific exercises for the back helps such as squats and stretching before exercise.

As for sitting in chairs, I wouldn't sit in anything with a hard cushion. I have a chair at my desk but I ended up buying a back & seat cushion b/c any time I would sit in the chair for a long period of time (at my computer) my back would lock up on me. For exercise I would take a spare pillow for seated exercises and sit on it in the chair to at least offset any stiffness.
