doesnt seem to have the same buzz it had last summer right around the Summer Madness time.

i dont believe a battle has hit 1M views since Surf and Hollow....
Summer Madness 3 was a disaster
and the new battles Smack is putting out dont have the same atmosphere and the crowds seem to be dead.

just an observation :yeshrug:

people only got caught up in the summer madness 2 hype because of diddy and busta bein there, nothin more nothin less, lux's performance helped 2, but honestly that was really only the beginning of battle rap becoming mainstream, it definitely hasnt even close 2 peaked yet

Blame the talent/battlers.

There are always good-great battles coming out but just don't expect them from the big names on Smack. In fact if you only watch Smack battlers then more fool you, brehs need to broaden their horizons.

I'm not sure whether battle rap has peaked...or whether its just stagnant...or whether it has hit a milestone with summer madness 2

if you say battle rap has peaked, you're basically saying that the industry has little chance of growing anymore...which I don't think anyone could say...

most people still aren't aware of battle rap, so there is still major room for the industry to grow

I think battle rap might go through different milestones with periods of stagnancy in between

I don't think battle rap is going to grow in a straight linear rising path....

I think it might go through periods of growing, then stay stagnant for a while, and then another period of growth and then stay stagnant and etc....

I think the time around summer madness 2 was the first milestone....the 2-3 years before summer madness 2, battle rap was growing fast

and I think summer madness 2 was the *culmination* of those 2-3 years...everything came together at SM2

so now it has hit a milestone...it has reached a place where there are hundreds of thousands of regular viewers...that's milestone number 1

so even though it may seem like it has peaked....it may really be just battle rap hitting their first milestone

and now they need to focus on getting to their next milestone which is a million regular viewers...

I think URL and KOTD need to start a campaign for promoting the sport of battle rap itself

I dont think they do that, I think the only advertising they do is to people who already are aware of battle rap...their own audiences....

blame the battlers for constantly trying to extort the battle leagues for more money, especially Smack

Tdot.. till the death of me
i think its at its peak right now...I cant imagine any battler being better then lux and i cant imagine anyrapper comin with better schemes then chilla jones at this point...or even these pg nikkas like pg skillet for that matter.

so yeah i think its at its highest point. but if it somehow continues to get better then :banderas:

The fact these guys are still ending up getting paid tells me that SMACK might be making a lot more money of them than we know :manny:
