Has Bernie built a big enough coalition to form a viable 3rd party?

It would be crazy if that person ended up being some unqualified joke candidate like Trump, just a leftist... some goofy celebrity or social media personality. I could see someone like that picking up steam if they were charismatic and went super hard at Dems and Repubs and had their own version of Trump’s wall...maybe single payer healthcare. We live in crazy times.

Id be their number #1 stan high key, I’d love to see both these dirtbag parties get trolled to death by a Progressive Trump :russ:

One thing I’m not seeing people say enough is how many new voters might be gained by a Progressive Party. There’s plenty of citizens that simply refuse to vote because Washington doesn’t get shyt done. A candidate that’s dead serious on student debt forgiveness, M4A, and other progressive policies would probably get out all those people who would otherwise sit home cynically as always.

Yeah, this is the key. If we only consider likely voters sorry the Rethugs have us outnumbered. We got to reach people who have given up on the political process. Only way Dems/Progressives can turn the tide, but it is definitely easier said than done.

i think it's a great idea :yeshrug:

progressives are gonna keep getting disappointed when the democrats nominate a moderate. why not just break off and form a new party?

someone has to do it eventually to rid us of this disgusting two party "rivalry", why not progressives?
It would destroy the Democrat party and lead to years of Republican led government before a third party can be established.

By that point the country would be too far gone to save, but then again it kinda feels like that already.

This country is finished and a progressive movement cant reverse course now with so many hands in the pot.

I kinda agree but am hoping against hope that's not the case. Also, what do we think rock bottom looks like? I mean Trump is currently president. lol

- A true unitary executive ie king
- No public healthcare option
- All abortion ruling overturned
- Civil rights laws repealed
- Fully conservative Supreme Court
- Massive deregulation of the finance sector
- Massive environmental deregulation
- Further defunding of the public school system

Uh...dystopia essentially.

This performance by Bernie kinda proves that its over.

Even if you could give majority of people a better life, you'd have to drag most of us kicking and screaming. We've shown as a country that we are quite fine with the way things are ran, just need a president who's not such a vocal a$$hole. If trump wasn't so open with his racism, sexism, and vulgarity then most people would be fine with how he ran the country for 4 years.

We complain about Democrats being Republican lite, when the reality is that the country is far more to the right than we think. Maybe progressives are the exception to the general mentality of the U.S.

Rock bottom is when people cant afford to put their last $200 down on the newest iPhone or cop the newest playstation because cost of living will eventually eat up that small bit of extra income used to keep ourselves distracted.

My suggestion is to worry about you and yours and get it while its here.

That's why you have to work on the local level first. Then state, then federal.

That video is too simplistic and only speaks on presidential elections.
It becomes more relevant the higher the office goes.

Poles still exist because even on a spectrum, you have more in common with parties you might overlap with on your side of the fence.

Most of this shyt is either happening right now and people dont care, or it might happen and a good chunk of the population support it happening(abortion rights)

Sadly none of this shyt would lead to rock bottom. People would have to lose access to entertainment before they snap.

The average person cant even tell you what the supreme court is and explain its role in the government. Not being able to afford internet or having the internet locked down and regulated like china would cause shyt to hit the fan faster than everything you named.

I some issues like higher minimum wage, free healthcare, legalization of weed the country is progressive, but shyt like open borders and reparations not so much. It's a mixed bag.
Good point about rock bottom, that's it. When luxuries go away for the majority that's it.
Always, goes without saying.

Not outrageous/charismatic enough. We need a Trump like character even if big media conglomerates don't like their message they got to put them on anyway because it means ratings. That's the type of charisma we need. She's not it on that tip.

Not exactly, but if the House is all we are holding up as a reason to continue with weak ass Dem strategy, no it's not enough. Let's add locally most governors and state legislations are also Republican.
The Republican light strategy is not working. Do the opposite of Republicans , if they are the corporate interest party let's be the worker's party and let's relentlessly hang our hat on something worthwhile like, infastructure, education, healthcare, fukkin' something! What issue are Dems willing to go to the mat for? Like, "Fukk political calculation we are about ___?!" Nothing.
At least Republicans have that albeit it is bad stuff like deregulation, racism, women's right not to choose. But they at least show conviction albeit on very negative things. We need some conviction on our side. Dems have 0.

This thread was about Bernie starting a 3rd party. That would ensure the Republicans win all the election imo. I don't know what the fukk you're talking about:yeshrug:

I’m just saying, for the informed, that would be as close to rock bottom as it gets without devolving into some type of Jim Crow-style class system.

Regardless, I hope people realize that we’re closer to it than we think and it would be wise not to let Trump have another 4 years to do it in.

  • We need a third party because the Dems have no power.
  • You said they have the House.
  • I said it is not enough and their overall outlook/strategy is not in the best interest of anyone because they don't stand for shyt.
  • You're welcome for the summary. lol
