Memphis rap runs DEEPER + had more influence than anywhere in the South, yet once it was the South's turn to get to running things - the footprints Spanish Fly, Ten Wanted Men, Hypnotize Minds and all dem made in the sand were washed out to sea. That late 80s/ early/mid 90s Memphis sound was taken and switched up and made into all the shyt you hear today*, and the majority are none the wiser where it came from - yet all the Southern legends that get that 40 tipped in their memory on wax are from either: H-Town, ATL or the NO. *don't nobody mention that 90s baby lo-fi shyt neither.
