Payton has like 80% of Westbrook's scoring ability but makes up the gap in not taking stupid shots alone.
Then the smarter passing/ball distribution puts him ahead of Westbrook offensively. You only get so many possessions each game, and Westbrook is going to take possessions away on a championship squad.
And that's before you even get to defense.
GSH gonna come on in here and talk about how disruptive Westbrook is, and that's true....but he's still going to cost you possessions and Payton still gives you so much more on defense that it more than makes up for the offense.
