They work off of each other when they work together. I know the popular thing is to say Jay's feeding off of Kanye's popularity or whatever... but when that album dropped, people were interested to hear the two of them together. It wasn't some thing where people just wanted to hear Kanye... they have a pretty good track record when combined. I don't think either one has kept the other's career alive.

Hov has a bigger fan base at the end of the day and his fans are fans that will purchase music more so than Ye fans cause they're older.
