Comparing Yeezus sales to MCHG is retarded too. If Jay dropped the same type of album called Jay-Hova how much do you all think it'd sell ?

More than Yeezus, as his fan base is bigger and more loyal.
How do you measure this ? Album sales ? I would agree but Kanye's single sales crush

I completely disagree on the loyalty though. Kanye's fanbase is extremely loyal. Jay's fans would ditch him in a second if he tried some of the shyt Kanye does.

Ye definitely saved Hovs career, he was dropping struggle singles until he got that Yeezy and Rihanna 2 for 1 stimulus package.

This.

I'll check on this thread in the morning, but the easiest way to answer this question is by asking what is the last successful solo Jay track?

Death of autotunes? Before that, some black album joint?

The latter plus more. I just don't think it's smart to compare to completely different albums with wildly different marketing/PR.

So Cal
Not just kanye. Bey, rihanna, Justin Timberlake, etc. Also Dame is the one responsible for kanye, so stop saying he wouldn't be where he is without Jay. Kanye had a #1 single years before jay got his.

True probaly cant compare they last albums...yeezuz did the whole "no promo" thing with no big singles from what i remember...and jay did the samsung deal and i cant really count all those as his sales....end of the day i still think Jay got the more loyal fanbase, kanye got a lotta casuals who i think he need that hot single for...its really over for dude when u think about it....meanwhile every jay album dropped is an event....if he drop a dud next album it might be aboht over for him too...or at least time to call a fake retirement and leave us for a while:mjcry:....this wack beyonce collab album he bout to do might b the nail in the coffin that yeezus wuz for kanye.

my nikka lets not act like jay doesn't rely on production

if he never worked with just, timbo, ski, neptunes, ye, and swizz he wouldnt be shyt

great ear for beats and he doesn't fukk up when he gets a big time beat but his flow is :scusthov: :scusthov: and the non major tracks on his albums are ass
So we went from "Ye saved Hov's career"...

....backtracked from that, and tried to say :whoa: "I was talking about the label Rocafella."

To now....saying that Jay z doesn't have a flow. Didn't have critically acclaimed albums before and after Kanye. And that Jay aint shyt because he knows how to choose a beat.:comeon:

Cuz lord knows, rap songs are really useful without a good beat.

How come a cat like Busta Rhymes who collabs with even more hot artists than Jay don't sell as well?

I mean, it is as simple as that right?

Tom Ford went gold, and reached 39 on the chart.

congrats.

You think there is a Tom Ford without Diamonds remix? That was the hidden part of my statement.

If you look back at the discography, Kanye rebuilt Jay's image with his whole big brother steez.

Just check the discography, it's right there. Jay's comeback was built off the success of Kanye and Rihanna.

And I'm not trying to be overly critical as I was one of the few people that enjoyed parts of Kingdom Come, BP3 and American Gangster.

But the period after Black album is littered with rappers who were Jay Z fans revitalizing his brand. Lol it was damn near spirit bomb like.
