Yes made Jay cool for an entire generation

Jay needed WTT, not yeezus

You are talking out of your ass. Who did Kanye make Jay cool too? This is just absurd.

How did Jay need WTT?

True

True probaly cant compare they last albums...yeezuz did the whole "no promo" thing with no big singles from what i remember...and jay did the samsung deal and i cant really count all those as his sales....end of the day i still think Jay got the more loyal fanbase, kanye got a lotta casuals who i think he need that hot single for...its really over for dude when u think about it....meanwhile every jay album dropped is an event....if he drop a dud next album it might be aboht over for him too...or at least time to call a fake retirement and leave us for a while:mjcry:....this wack beyonce collab album he bout to do might b the nail in the coffin that yeezus wuz for kanye.

Jay sold a million albums aside from the Samsung thing

You don't know what you're talking about
congrats.

You think there is a Tom Ford without Diamonds remix? That was the hidden part of my statement.

If you look back at the discography, Kanye rebuilt Jay's image with his whole big brother steez.

Just check the discography, it's right there. Jay's comeback was built off the success of Kanye and Rihanna.

And I'm not trying to be overly critical as I was one of the few people that enjoyed parts of Kingdom Come, BP3 and American Gangster.

But the period after Black album is littered with rappers who were Jay Z fans revitalizing his brand. Lol it was damn near spirit bomb like.

This is inaccurate

BP3 had Empire State of mind which would have been Jayz biggest hit whether or not Run this town was released before it.

if both dropped an album at midnight on some beyonce shyt....who would sell the most?

btw. sales =/= skills

just asking a question..

Jay-Z only because he'd come up with another deal similar to the one he had with Samsung. A great business move on his part but it's cheating.

Wow...u really don't know what you're talking about.

ALL of his albums were platinum

Singles such as Big Pimpin, Hard Knock Life, Money aint a thang, Can I get A, nikka What nikka Who.

....But Jay z won't poppin before 2000:mjlol:

JAY-Z was selling like that but Rocafella as a whole? Nope.

Name another Roc artist who did comparable numbers to Jigga before the 2000s. I'll wait...:sas2:

kanye carries jay sonically, on a musical and artistic level, i think the quality of hovs music would be way worse without kanye, not even just like stuff kanye works on, but if he wasnt exposed to that artist constantly challenging him to go left (which eh never does anyways) i think we would have a different hov

hov cared about art and fashion only really after kanye did

but after MCHG sales wise, jay would sell more if an album were to drop out the blue beyonce style

hov really should be thanking beyonce for that. beyonce is keeping his sales #'s up more then kanye is, but i think kanye exists as a force for his creative side

either way tho hes flabby n sick and thats coming from someone who used to say he was the GOAT

:beli: Yeezus was an experimental album with no singles.

Singles
Def Jam confirmed in late June 2013 that "Black Skinhead" would be serviced to American radio as the album's first single on July 2, 2013 and that a music video for the track was being produced.[40] It was officially released to radio in the United Kingdom on June 19.[41] The song peaked at number 69 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and 34 on the UK Singles Chart.[42][43]

In August 2013, it was revealed that "Bound 2" would be released as the second single from Yeezus.[44] The single was sent to radio in the United Kingdom on August 28.[45] "Bound 2" features vocals from American soul singer Charlie Wilson and incorporates numerous samples into its production, including prominent elements of the song "Bound" (1971) by soul group Ponderosa Twins Plus One.[23] "Bound 2" received general acclaim from music critics, who referred to the song as one of the highlights of the album and compared its soul sample-based production to West's early work from his debut studio album The College Dropout.[46][47] The song has since peaked at number 55 on the UK Singles Chart.[48]

In November 2013, producer Hudson Mohawke revealed that "Blood on the Leaves" would serve as the album's third single.[49] West subsequently made the announcement in an interview on New York's 92.3 NOW.[50]

When has Jay's career been in jeopardy? When has he even been close to flopping or being irrelevant? Kanye may be helping Jay stretch his career with Watch The Throne, but Kanye didn't keep Jay relevant. If it wasn't Watch The Throne, it would've been another solo album.

They've both helped each other though. Jay Z keeps Kanye grounded and in the Hip Hop world. Kanye helps Jay Z take more creative risks and keeps him away from doing an album full of Ghetto Techno and Off That.
