Come on man. You know Yeezus was much more relevant than MCHG. The Bound 2 video alone had more buzz than that entire album.. Couple that with the controversy/discussion that New Slaves and Black Skinhead caused and it's not even a discussion.

Yeezus was only more relevant than MCHG on The Coli and Kanyetothe forums. MCHG had bigger songs and made a bigger impact than Yeezus. Kanye premiered "Bound 2" on Ellen and it featured him and Kim seemingly having sex on a motorcycle. The same video was parodied by James Franco and some other guy which added to whatever buzz it had. Meanwhile, MCHG had "Holy Grail", "Tom Ford", "FWitMeYouKnowIGotIt" (one of the biggest songs in the street last year), and "Part II" in rotation on the radio.

Kanye as the co-executive producer had a hand in approving those Timbo cuts. "Ghetto Techno" wasn't even intended for BP3. It was for Timbaland's own Shock Value 2. According to Tim's own DJ, Jay and Timbaland did five songs during that time. The other two leaked and were intended for other projects. Kanye is still at least 1/2 accountable for the "lazy" Timbo tracks that did make the cut.
Ghetto Techno was definitely intended for BP3 and Complex confirmed it a while ago. Either way, Timbaland had friction with Kanye at the time and wanted to do the whole album. Luckily Jay sided with Kanye and kept Timbo from ruining BP3 any further.

Out here in my damn drawls
This question is hard because it calls if Jay would've been as popular today with Ye prolonging his career. It's a hard question because you can't factor Jay's career by itself without Beyonce

And let's be real: If Kayne's career was left at the hands of Jay, he would've never been able to pop. Dame lobbied for Ye the rapper

Oh, so when he collabs with others, he is using them, while every other rapper collabs with others for the hell of it?

Nevermind the fact that he is always the bigger artists than those he collabs with (minus Eminem). They definitely have nothing to gain from being on a track with him.

Gotcha :comeon:

:myman:props,im sick of nikkas acting like that coveted Jay cosign/guest verse which is almost as good as his cosign aint helped aloooootta nikkas careers.....ill agree its a give and take for Jay to keep himself looking fresh and like a peer with this new generation, but to act like Jays cosign aint helping these new cats is crazy to me....ive watched the media change its tone on rappers after getting that Jay blessing on some "He must be next for real:lupe:" simply cuz Jay don't do guess verses for any ol body......that Jay cosign get the hype train running into overdrive:banderas:

Where as Bustas verses is useless in that respect becuz he get on everybody shyt:heh:....other nikkas need to follow his lead becuz it works....Drake do the exact same shyt in reality following Hov footsteps.....Jay was and is the stimulus plan before there was one:sas1:

I'm a mutual fan of both but I gotta admit that Ye and Bey have been keeping Jay relevant in the mainstream and even artistically for the past years, especially Ye.

Guru actually revealed to Complex that Jay let Kanye run the show for the album and tour.

Young Guru: “Watch the Throne, that was Jay’s way of going, ‘Here, here’s the whole project for you to do. I’m gonna fall back and just interject my lines and here and there.’ The concept of that album was wholly directed by Kanye. That’s probably the first time that Jay ever did that but it was on purpose.

“With Watch the Throne, Kanye put his foot in it. He definitely brought a new style, pushed Jay in terms of styling and where they wanted to go. I think he also just hit the nail on the head by accepting tracks from outside producers that he found was hot.

Now this is Jay's longtime engineer talking. Also we all know Jay wasn't talking no "Picasso Baby" or "Tom Ford" shyt before WTT.

We can even talk about the fact that he brought Travis Scott and Mike Dean in to upgrade the "Crown" beat sounds a track on "Yeezus.'

Prior to Empire State of Mind, Run This Town was Jay's highest charting single :mjpls:

so his stock has risen with cacs since Kanye and dropped with nikkas is what we saying here:mjpls:?....I think I can agree hanging with Kanye has made him more safe and make worst music that appeals to cacs late in his career....if he was still rapping with Sigel this light in the voice Jay would rarely show his face:mjcry:...but we don't care about that,we care about wack songs like Run This Town and Otis getting play:snoop:...wack albums like BP3 and WTT,MCHG was ehh...Kanye has clearly effected Jays idea of a good album in the worst way possible, which leads me to believe maybe Jay believes what some of yall are saying here and he's takin Kanyes advice thinking it might be why he's still hot if he's lookin at singles charts:patrice:...but deep down the JayZ I know don't believe this bullshyt:damn:

Using "relevancy" to talk about an album no one's listening to a year later :heh:
