Do you like any kendrick song breh?

Hey breh, to be honest... not really. Maybe "The Recipe".

Dude is just wack as fukk to me. I can accept that it's just my taste (and others feel me, from the looks of things). But no way in hell is dude dope enough to be in any kinda top spot. I've been listening to hip hop too long to fall for that marketing bullshyt. When you're in the top spot of anything, your voice at the very least is way better than Kendrick's. And you have undeniable songs.

Kendrick's vocal delivery is so bad that it just ruins decent beats. Especially his regular 'rhyming during verses' delivery.

But if you want to know the beats that stand out to me in his catalog, aside from The Recipe I already mentioned:

1. Art of Peer Pressure (lowkey this is probably the best beat on the entire album)
2. Money Trees (also one of, if not the nicest beat on the album. Good chorus)
3. bytch Don't Kill My Vibe
4. Hii Power
5. Cut You Off (Good chorus)

of course they're way better than Cartoons and Bullshyt, and Blacker the Berry. That's my point - only Kendrick fans think those songs are dope.

Non-Drake fans like myself think 10 Bands and 0-100 are dope songs. Huge difference.
Quentin Miller wrote those songs dude.

0-100 = Quentin Miller

10 Bands = Quentin Miller

Are you even listening to the lyrics?

are you even listening to the songs or just printing out lyrics?

The QM thing is irrelevant to this discussion and if you read the first page of this thread, you'll see why

I did read the first page and Quentin Miller will always be relevant to songs he created period.

I listen to the music and lyrics at the same time.

Thing so is you could care less for depth or real lyricism. Fine ok.

But did Drake create the instrumentals? No.

Quentin even provided the cadence and flow.

So you like pop rap. Cool.

Doesn't give you the right to dictate other people's tastes.

No. You're jumping to conclusions I never made.

But did Drake create the instrumentals? No.

We covered this already in the thread. peep below:

Sure the best thing about it is the beat. But to say it has nothing to do with Drake is unrealistic. At the end of the day, Drake and his team chose it and Drake brought his vision/personality to it. Which makes the song pop.

You could give this beat to Kendrick and he'd still waste it.

Quentin even provided the cadence and flow.

You have no receipts for 0-100, but I'm well aware of the 10 Bands reference track. Still irrelevant. Bring up Quentin Miller when you're talking about a pop rapper like Drake is fukking irrelevant. Why can't y'all realize this?

The end product of 10 Bands & 0-100 is better than the end product of anything Kendrick/J Cole have put out. Discussing whether the engineer or writer was phony is irrelevant.

So you like pop rap. Cool.

Again, you're jumping to conclusions I never made.

Doesn't give you the right to dictate other people's tastes.

When did I do this? this seems to be the default "don't talk negative about someone I love" response that i see online from time to time.

But this is my point breh. It's disingenuous to say that Drake is only Future/Young Thug.

The reality of the matter is that Drake is an album artist just like Kendrick and J Cole. He occupies the 'real hip hop' space, too. And does it better than them

He doesn't he either does catchy rhymes like Young Thug/Future or does emo stuff like Usher/Weeknd.

Only Drake took himself seriously. And after the ghost writing nonsense, he can't even take over Lil Wayne's spot, let alone the throne he has been eyeing since he came in the game. Chances Drake gets mentioned with Nas, Pac, B.I.G., Cube, or Jay-Z is slim to none.

Drake already surpassed Wayne. But that's not hard to do and frankly, I don't want the thread to devolve into a Wayne vs Drake convo.

Drake will never get mentioned with Nas, Pac, Big, etc. Why would you even bring that up? :what: I'm saying that Drake is outdoing real hip hop nikkas in 2015. Mostly because underground rappers are too busy conforming: whether it's to Drake-style pop rap or badly-done 'real hip hop'. You take all the 'real hip hop' made in 2015 and compare it to 10 Bands, and 99% wont be as good. That's my point.

And it's sad :mjcry:

Technically QM chose the beat and Drake chose the QM song, I don't like to play the ghostwriter game at every occasion but these are facts :patrice:

:duck: You don't know how it actually happened. and like I said, it's irrelevant. I knew Drake was a pop rapper from '07 and I expected pop acts to have writers. This isn't some massive revelation to me.

I don't like to play the ghostwriter game at every occasion but these are facts :patrice:

OK... so what? It's like some of y'all are deliberately not trying to see the point: A fraud rapper is producing better HIP HOP (not just pop rap, but hard 'real hip hop') than 99% of people out now, including your so-called 'saviors'. You don't think that's a huge problem?

:francis: Brehs someone tell me why is J. Cole is higher thought of than Big Sean? I feel Big Sean should be in that first tier after the album he dropped this year.
