I have added "real" music to my libray.

Now when I'm trying to study or something I know enough to put on Jazz or Classical.

I despize most 'Rap' post 2003

But I will never let go of my 90s East Coast shyt.

I took a break around 2006 -2008 period. I had enough of snap and decided to be a rock/electronic fan for a while. Thankfully instrumentalists like flying lotus and madlib I got back into hip hop.

I don't listen to explicit hardcore hip hop music anymore. Mainly Christian rap and instrumentals nowadays, with a few exceptions (Common, Lupe Fiasco old albums, Eric B & Rakim).

I still get tempted, cause the old 80s/90s/2000s hip hop sounds so good.

what about horrorcore?

You guys are corny with this "I'm finished with hip hop" schtick.

If you're that quick to dismiss Rap music, you probably weren't built for it like that anyway.

Stick to the Taylor Swift's and Sam Smith's of this world. They're probably more to your liking anyway.

Shook the addiction, but I'll still partake in it from time to time. Mainly listen to NPR these days :flabbynsick:

I'm at a point where it just sounds like noise now. Guess this how old heads feel like lol. I like music with melodies and actually talented singers. I went from listening to 2Pac every day to listening to The Weeknd every time I'm in my car.

I have my West Coast and East Coast playlists on Pandora when I need a fix, but I'm usually listening to R&B, Soul and Funk from different eras. My gf says I'm old school. I can't do adult shyt while thinking like a 90s crack dealer or pimp. Music effects your mood. I don't care what anyone says.

Man, I was hella addicted during 2002-2007. All I cared about was mixtapes, rap battles, and hearing the latest stuff. Eventually the music started to become more watered down, which gave me less of a reason to listen to it. Now I just listen to old school stuff because most of the new stuff ain't my thing.

I feel like I’m getting too old for rap even tho I’m in my mid 20s. I’ve been listening to rap since I was 5 yrs old. I’m tired of mainstream rap, with all the drugs and crime lyrics and every other word being nikka and bytch.
I’m slowly cleaning up my library. I love 50s-90s Black music, neo soul and alternative r&b. When I’m at work I listen to jazz a lot. Mainstream r&b now is even sounding too much like rap imo and even has to be cleaned up for radio.
