Discipline, pride, health and knowledge can all be sought and expanded upon without the aid of religion. Spirituality is nothing if you as a people are walking the streets knowing the police and a sizable number of the people are not your friend.
Doing better with less is great in certain situations, but this is a culture, a community that we speak of. Financial and social security would matter more to me, but that's just me. Spirituality does not change people's often wrongful perceptions of black people, nor does it advance the society. I'm not saying completely throw it in the bushes, just.. prioritize a little. But then again this is coming from an atheist, so spirituality most likely ranks higher on your list.
P.S. I don't have much against Islam, but they're tripping about pork. That haram swine is delicious

The only difference today is the technology and us living under the most powerful religion/system: WHITE SUPREMACY
