Nah I disagree, kids have impressionable minds. Their political views and ideology is often guided by the type of household they grew up in. Most conservatives adults today grew up in a conservative household as a kid.

The betrayal and ideological evolution stories are the exception. Most cac kids today will be exposed to nothing but propaganda from fox news, oann, breitbart etc and will grow up to revere trump as the hero "who got treated badly by the left wing socialist media and politicians"

Basically.

For the last 10 or 15 years (basically since Obama got elected) white nationalists have been online targeting and radicalizing young white guys. I think it's part of why Trump won. You shouldn't underestimate how easy it is for teenagers (and older people as well, but especially teens) to go online, watch a few Youtube videos, and start absorbing whatever ideology someone is trying to feed them.

Young white people of today are more ideologically diverse than previous White people. Of course, you have the typical arch-conservative MAGA Trump supporters but there's a large percentage of young White people that grew up under Obama and then came to be inspired by Bernie. Polling has shown that young White Republicans are more socially liberal than their parents (more open to combating climate change, more open to gun control, more open to abortion) - if Republicans were smart they would moderate on some social issues like that. Don't forget the impact of school shootings like Parkland on many young people, especially White ones.

However, we'll see in the future. The current generation is the most racially diverse in history and generations are becoming more diverse as time goes along. By that time, most young people today (including myself) will be more politically active...it will be the 2030s and 2040s. By that time, White people will be close to a minority of the population. Gen Z will be fully fledged adults and they are the generation that is coming of age right now in the era of Trump & COVID-19. The Republican Party will be negatively impacted by Trump's presidency but it remains to be seem how devastating the impact will be.

If the Republican Party is down to, "well, I hope those online White Nationalists are doing really well in their radicalization campaign", then the party is fukked.

I didn't say that zero young people would be inspired to join that party. I said that the quality of those young people is really, really poor.

Still centrist Democrat, will most likely stay that way. I'm a full believer in capitalism, just not at the expense of everyone and everything else.

Given the platform of the current Progressive left, I just can't agree on enough issues to identify myself with them.
