yeah I know there have been tons of articles saying this, but I just saw it for my own eyes.
I'm on biz travel near Hampton University, my alma mater, so I decided to drop in and talk to one of my old professors.
one of the main parking lots, we used to call Africa because it was so damn far, was completely empty
I then looked up the current enrollment...around 4300
The enrollment when I graduated in 2006 was 6300


I still believe HBCUs are necessary in America, especially in today's climate. Why is that we're turning our backs on the greatest source of black doctors, nurses, and engineers?

so I went 2 years...got caught up in all the partying, chicks, etc, ended up losing the scholarship cuz I had to maintain a 3.5 and ended sophomore year with a 3.1. Took some time off went back to register in 08 and tuition jumped to $4800 a semester
that's like 130% increase. I would hate to see what it is now
