It worked out perfectly for them as Bruce Brown was the better backup PG, but it did make their bench even more thin than it already was and reduced their margin for injury.

The minutes would have been there for him had he stayed especially Brown more than likely leaving, but he just got greedy or got bad advice and wanted more.
