whatever you get make sure it has a ssd drive. best way to add an hour to battery life and save yourself the hassle of overheating.

make sure it has at least 2 usb 3.0's

get an upgradeable latptop too. i got a 300 dollar lenovo with an i5 processor but my shyt runs for 2 days on one charge and is faster than all my friends laptops beacause of 100 bucks in upgrades.

i got hooked up with a refurbished laptop that was returned after a day. it was brand new and 200 off sticker

I still don't know what to do brehs. That Mac seems tempting, but only if I can get it at discount.

If money is not the issue and you want something with high resale value and longevity your not going to go wrong with the Macbook Air. All these windows laptops may match in build quality and sometimes even specs but something happens to them once they hit that 3 year mark where they start getting and you really can do nothing but hand it down to a family member cause u wont get nothing more than a third of what u paid for it

This is exactly what happened to me. My shyt just started getting super slow. I did a factory reset and it was back to normal until all those Windows updates and service packs kicked in. I think that's what does it. The updates just get bigger and bigger over time and eventually the machine can't handle it.'

Money isn't an issue really. I can pay more for quality if it's gonna last a long time.

Tell me about it am on my third laptop as a adult and not cause there breaking down just cause they slow down and god forbid MS drops a new OS, and if your worried about having MS Office, the Mac version runs EXACTLY like the MS version so you will immediately be familiar. Overall the mac OS is not difficult to learn at all

What Win Os was you running? If its Win Xp Its known to slow over time. Now Win 7 and Win 8.1 is not prone to slowing at least not in my experience (properly maintained).

The 4/5 hour Batt life wasn't cutting it so I sacfrificed the display and got the mid 2013 13 inch 256 gb 4gb ram open box for $1000. I need and like the convenience of a longer battery more than any performance I may lose in comparison to the retina.

I am not a brand whore, Im ok w windows, but Mac is too piffey.
