Help me buy a laptop brehs...

Don't really have a budget (maybe $1000)

I need something:

• lightweight
• small enough to use comfortably on a plane
• decent battery life
  
• good specs
• decently future proof
• preferably Windows (I'm not used to the Mac ecosystem and I need to run MS Office, but I'm open to Macs)

Help a brother out. What's out there? Any good deals?

I have a macbook pro, but the Air is the exact same but more compact and lightweight.

after spending a week or 2 on a Mac, you'll never wanna go back to Windows, and I've been using Windows faithfully since Win95.

macbook air is the best answer and you can run office on it

Mac are okay, but you can get a good ultrabook for under a 1000, I'll post some when I get to the house I'm on my phone right now.

What programs do you need etc?

I definitely need MS Office. I heard there are some conversion issues with the Mac version tho.
I'm primarily gonna use the laptop for web browsing and work. I'll need it for grad school classes and doing work on the airplanes as well.

Oh and it needs to be somewhat future proof. I'm tired of my laptop being after two years.
