Hercules, starring The Rock, raked in 29 million dollars this weekend. This was good for second place, behind Lucy. It did beat the studio estimates, and also brought in 28.7 million dollars overseas. Hercules will open in plenty of other countries this coming week, including Norway, Portugal, India, Finland and the Netherlands.

I was entertained and it helps that the movie is pretty short considering all these other summer blockbusters push over two hours easy. Whoever said they advertised this all wrong was dead on. The trailers made it look boring and didn't even really go into the actual storyline. Hercules and his crew were holding it down in this movie for real. Good flick - I've seen a lot worse this summer movie season.

Just got back from the theater :whew:

I'm no film buff, but this movie vastly exceeded my expectations. It had everything I want in a summer blockbuster; interesting storyline, cool action scenes, and funny one liners. I've never been a fan of the sword and sandal genre, but Dwayne killed it with this one. Might not be for the serious film enthusiast, but this was great to me.
I was going to see it anyway because Rock is in it, but It was still much better than I expected. Dude who played Amphiaraus was killing it with the jokes. :russ:
I won't trip if this doesn't get a sequel, but if it does they better come with a more entertaining villain :yeshrug:

Rock is built to be a villain imo...tryna make him Arnold Schwarzenegger is a waste
Either he's a strong side character or a villain he ain't a box office draw as currently constructed
