Just got back from the theater :whew:

I'm no film buff, but this movie vastly exceeded my expectations. It had everything I want in a summer blockbuster; interesting storyline, cool action scenes, and funny one liners. I've never been a fan of the sword and sandal genre, but Dwayne killed it with this one. Might not be for the serious film enthusiast, but this was great to me.

:leon: Might have to catch this soon then

So saw the movie for work and it was actually good :dwillhuh: trailers made it seem like a cheesy drama like the immortals or even the other Hercules but was pretty good . Did a nice job with the re telling of his myth and making it more grounded(to a degree) They should of played up the team aspect which was a big big part of the movie. The trailer doesn't even really tell you what the movie is about as most of it is literally like the first 15 minutes of the movie . The credits :banderas: great job with the casting too .

Same thing I thought. The trailers made it seem like another corny "fantasy" type movie, but it was more 300 than Legend Of Hercules.

Isnt this Cena everyone wants back though?

:sas1:

Uses black culture to become the #1 attraction in his field.

proceeds to dump said culture and never look back after becoming #1

Uses a fake marine gimmick while never serving or even having anyone thats served

sees black wrestler getting in his ass and proceeds to hit the emergency black culture case to try to make a comeback

apologizes a week later for strong language while using it and never bringing it back out :sas2:

I'd buy a cut of them actually doing the feats . The way they were able to get the whole team over :banderas: that silent crazy ax wielding goon :banderas: rock didn't deserve him :to: no homo

Previews actually do the the movie no justice It's very good breh for a summer action flick . Brett ratner did his thing

After that X-Men movie, I was always wary of anything Brett Ratner directed :patrice:

But if TSC says it's good and it's not like the trailers, then might have to give it a look :ehh:

I like the character of Hercules but no one is really checking for him like that in 2014. Of course people are going to choose Scarlett Johansson. :manny: Overall, it's going to turn a good profit though. Already at $57 million worldwide with a $100 million budget.

I'm surprised no one has broken $300 million this year, so far. Maybe people are finally get tired of the bullshyt remakes, reboots and sequels.

Did better than expected but Scarlett won the weekend
The opening of “Hercules,” the first movie directed by Brett Ratner since 2011's “Tower Heist,” topped the expectations of analysts by roughly $4 million. But the $100 million price tag of the action epic from MGM and Paramount takes some of the edge off the opening, and it's clear “Hercules” will have to do the bulk of its business overseas to get into the black. It's off to a solid start, taking in $28.7 million from 26 foreign markets in which it debuted this weekend.

“Hercules” played very male (58 percent) and surprisingly older domestically, with 64 percent of its audience over the age of 25. Moviegoers gave it a “B+” CinemaScore, a little better than its 63 percent Rotten Tomatoes score. IMAX helped, with “Hercules” delivering $4 million from 347 IMAX locations.

Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes and John Hurt co-star in “Hercules.” In it, the Greek strongman come to the aid of his daughter and the King of Thrace who are threatened by a tyrannical warlord.
