I notice there's never a lot if any black Christmas movies on these lists. Even though there's so many out there (This Christmas, The Perfect Holiday, The Last Holiday, A Dream For Christmas). I wonder if it's because movies like Home Alone and A Christmas Story have made us infatuated with how white families celebrate Christmas and their traditions. I may be wrong.

Nah I think it's because most of the movies we're listing we saw when we were kids. Most, not all. So something like This Christmas (a good movie) won't make my list because it didn't affect me the way A Christmas Story does. It's not fair but that's my reasoning. Arthur Christmas is the one movie I'd put on a list that I saw in my 20s

Yea you're right. I was considering putting Soul Food in my list cause I watched it a lot as a kid. I can't remember though if it had any Christmas scenes in it. Most of the other ones came out when I was grown up and I only saw once. I think Friday After Next is the only black Christmas movie that I watch every year. I have The Best Man Holiday on deck to watch for the first time. Might revisit This Christmas too.

Friday after Next is much better than Next Friday, which I consider to be a huge disappointment. Yeah not only that but it has no conflict lol. Day-Day and the family need money for their mortgage and then the stuff with the Jokers but there's really nothing going on in that movie. I had a hard time remembering what the plot and conflict was but Friday After Next clearly has something going for it.

I just seen it so many times it's become a cult classic to me. Friday After Next only gets watched around Christmas, but I agree in a way it is funnier. The whole plot of them being rent a cops had me.
