The military is a great look, if you aren’t ready for/don’t plan on going to college
:yeshrug:

I can’t imagine slaving a low wage job($15/hr) when I can serve 4 yrs and slide into the middle class.
You might take to it, make a career of it and be good for life.
Don't listen to @DEAD7 about anything :upsetfavre:
He's right here and it isn't even close.

You think DC is bad, look at houses in NYC. Aside from what I listed, last year I saw a 950 square foot house in south queens near the belt parkway go for $315,000. No good jobs either. Without a masters or doctorate all you see on job sites are sales or front desk type jobs. Next to nothing unionized. You should see what it looks like in Orlando. Nothing but commission and sales or food service with some hospitality sprinkled in. Imagine how bad it must be getting in the Midwest and Deep South :heh: :picard:
Move to Denver or Utah they're giving out high level jobs

people in other parts of the world don't define themselves with economic success like americans do, and have a more communal society. They have churches, neighborhoods, generations of family in the same house. In the US everyone spreads out chasing careers and has no support system.

This is why "just move" is always stupid advice.
:wow: Brehs continue their vapid pursuit and perpetuation of individualism without realizing that even economically depressed people in communal cultures are vastly happier than we are because human beings are naturally communal and the extreme individualism we have in the US is incredibly destructive and unhealthy.

They'll learn.

Breh, the military does not offer you "slide into middle class" levels of assistance or pay anymore. :francis: Like, those days are long dead. Baseline E4 pay is like, $25K a year. You make more than that working at a truck stop. And most people won't crack E3 which is poverty wages.

its pretty much been like this since what, 2009? i dont wanna say since 02, that doesnt seem right

either way, there's clearly no signs of anything really improving  dems are running on better healthcare, but they have to take more of your money to do it

Every Western nation does this. Europe, Canada and I'm pretty sure Australia and New Zealand too.

Eliminating healthcare cost, covering college cost, a guaranteed housing loan, and the veteran preference slide you into the middle class. If it doesnt its because you didnt take advantage of it.

1. It's the absolute worst healthcare you can get. An army docs solution to everything is 800mg motrin.
2. Covering college cost but at a cost and be glad if you can actually go (deployments, training)
3. Guaranteed house loan....dont mean shyt if you have a below average credit score
4. Veterans preference is cool perk I guess. GS system is a who do I know system damn near. It's how I got put on. Also doesn't help that now you have to wait six months if you retired to get in the system. Contractor is the quick come up but pay isn't guaranteed because of shutdowns. plus veterans preference is making a world of difference for Iraq and Afghanistan vets who are homeless at alarming rates.
