PS: as a general prophylactic statement to those who will call my brothers and sisters rioting crazy: Try to realize that they are just responding to crazy and that it is you who has lost the ability to see that what they live with everyday as crazy, and that is what makes you crazy for calling them crazy. Insanity breeds Insanity.
Are we really hitting them back though? Or are we lashing out in a wave of unorganized violence that will quickly dissipate without creating sustainable change?
I agree 100%.
It is insanity. But I definitely understand where the insanity stems from.
1. I don't expect crazy to be organized, I don't put that kind of shackle of expectation on people who have been driven to the brink of psychosis. go talk to those motherfukkers always making excuses to condone police violence when people are just talking about it and not rioting
black people abhor violence, they do whatever they can to avoid it, they put up with a shyt ton of bullshyt to avoid it, so when they act up, I can forgive it.
2. if you look carefully, exposing the disorder in the system works because the system cares about covering its sickness, hence all the denial through scapegoating.

You are the only one saying it is a strategy, I am saying it is insanity. An insanity that I give psychologically sound black people the right to assert. And it has been a very effective part of change.
the situation is a fine tuned system of oppression since the 70's (even before that). it's just now sort of cracking. it is unorganized but it is what it is.
