Movie was all over the place. The tone, the score, the acting & writing in certain parts.

Entertaining enough for me to sit through, but numerous times I was thinking “damn this is silly”.

And the resolution was contrived and disappointing.

Jeffrey Wright makes one text and immediately gets the address of the kidnapper. The way it was shot, I thought at first that he was behind it.

Immediately after pulling a $17 million crime, Rocky just puts it under his bed and goes to the studio? Did his accomplices get paid? After that highly coordinated job with someone in the exact right spot for the bag to fall, the others didn’t ask for their share?

Once that rap video started, I thought that was going to be the final scene…another one of those bad Spike Lee endings. Then it went on longer, but the ending still wasn’t very good

Breh should've been 30 deep off in that studio, especially after just hitting a lick like that lol. There were just too many distracting elements in this movie though that kept pulling me in and out. I'll never get tired off my G, Peoples though...."that's mayhem" :mjlol:

The wife? Terrible. The kids? Turrible. Asap? How u get fukked up by an ole washed nicca :russ:

There was a good (remake) movie in there somewhere, but it missed the mark for the most part. And yet, it was still entertaining enough.

I expected more from this movie then what I saw. The chemistry between Spike and Denzel might not be there anymore and that's ok cause the 80's and 90's were a long time ago. It's ok to admit that they might not have it anymore after all these years and with both getting up there in age.

I wonder how much of that has to do with Spike not writing this(some random cac wrote it)? With the exception of this and Inside Man, Spike has always written the script that Denzel had. Been a while since I watched IM, but I dont really remember it being some in depth character study like a He Got Game or Malcolm X. Maybe they both phoned it in because it was an easy big check for both, especially since it was for streaming with minimal theatrical release :manny:

Nah yall undersold how trash this was

The dialogue was terrible, the randomness of certain parts. These nikkas meet and start battling in the studio?

The score was the least of this shyt's worries..

I'm a Denzel stan and I rewatch all his movies, even the ones considered bad like Unstoppable.. I'll never watch this again lol

I'm kinda shocked they allowed this shyt to come out
