I'm not one off those people, but being 40. This shiit is different for our generation and older.

You gotta remember we coming from a period. Where, we didn't have 24/7 access to this music. Shiit most off didn't even live in areas where Rap was played on radio before like 8/9 pm pre 95/96. Hip-hop wasn't the defacto music of Black Music.

Yall gotta take that in mind sometimes
I hear you, I'm only 8 years younger than you. There's plenty popular young nikka shyt that I don't like. Wanna do a post search to see how many times I've discussed nikkas who make music I don't like? Here's a hint: the results would be close to nil.

How does any of what you typed excuse the fact grown ass babies come online to complain about an entire genre of music DAILY??? You prefer Disco, funk, soul, house music, etc. That's perfectly fine, but why drip period blood all over the forums every day about some shyt you don't like? Not saying you personally but since you speaking on behalf of the grandpa baby ass nikkas, I'd love to hear the explanation.

It's not like the complaining works. In fact it's almost like young nikkas are purposely trying to do everything against what the old heads stood for :ohhh:

Post some examples cause I need to be put onto that shyt. The only BIG "club" song I can think of lately is uzi's I wanna rock and that wasn't house.

There's guys putting out "club" records in NJ/Philly etc....and they're dope but I haven't heard any new house hip-hop type shyt.

only places I hear EDM rap fusion is on playlists on Spotify or Apple Music.

I fukk with phonk a lot and they merge a lot with rappers.

But that shyt is NICHE. who's major that you talking about?
Almost all the hip-hop coming out NYC/NJ/Philly nowadays is a sample beat with club drums

I don't think a single song in this thread was more entertaining, had a better flow, or was more fun than this throwaway remix from 13 years ago:

Which is fine -- but you're not going to guilt me into pretending NBA Guac Baby 3LW, or the newest person doing the wack Joey Badass shyt cosplaying as a 90s rapper, or these z-list PM Dawn/Andre 3000 hybrid/disciples are good just because they're new.

ain't I remix was fire :banderas:

Are these dudes biting Ice Spice or is Ice Spice biting them? (honest question, I don't know whose music came out first). Because those first two or three have Ice Spice's same flow, just with a guy's voice (or, like I said, maybe the other way around?)

It’s a widespread style in NY drill.

Ice Spice didn’t invent it.

The dude that went last in the first song (Bizzy Banks) I would credit with pioneering the whole “like” ad lib pause style and the glah glah boom ad lib years back and it went crazy when Bronx drill blew up.

Which ones of these elements of hip-hop are being represented by today's "artists?" DJ would be the closest, but that's prominent in EDM and House now

If kids are loving this stuff that's fine. If older cats want to force themselves to believe the music is hitting.... cool. But I'd totally be for just labeling it as another genre

The moment Lil Uzi said he ain't rapping over no old beats on the radio and got a bunch of co-signs it was over
Uzi and Lil Yachty lol.

Ok. I live in Brooklyn but I'm 44 and I'm not originally from here so I wind up discovering alot of this stuff as if I'm from Kansas or something.

I want to get into the newer artist, but it's so much music out there it's hard to listen to everything.
I tend to fall back into familiarity because of the lack of time.
With that being said I think streaming watered down the product.
