I don't think Hip-Hop is in a good state but 1 of the main issues is that listeners aren't really expanding to listen to other artists.

There's plenty of decent music out there if people actually looked for new music.
I disagree. There are so many niche artists that sell out tours instantly nowadays.

Social media and streaming changed the game.

Seems like only Kendrick is delivering...but then again dude is an exception, he'll probably always drop a universally acclaimed album (which will end up being successful) no matter what. He's like prime Kanye.

Only difference is this time, dude really is alone at the top.

Plenty of dope hip hop drops, most people just lazy about finding it.

What’s the best website (the source-esque) for this sort of thing?

I never even know when things are coming out, let alone find out about new up and coming artist.

The downfall of the source was shyt for hip hop, if they would’ve pivoted to a credible website, it would’ve been better for everyone.

Benny just dropped something

WSG just dropped an EP

Kendrick shyt isn't even a year old yet

Don't be spoiled by the fact that in the streaming era we get blessed continuously.

Literally just heard that new cut "The Louvre" off Static Selektahs upcoming joint.

Plus I guarantee there's some other people shyt that probably have dropped that flew right under the radar.
Benny’s new album is mid tho and Griselda as a whole is oversaturated and stale.

Stopped giving a fukk about hip hop after 96. If it wasn't for Kendrick and a few andre 3000 verses, I'd be done with hip hop.
Music has been great, even better than before. But hip hop, meh...the very few great artists transcended it, to the point where you even wonder if hip hop isn't a less talented musical genre...

Kendrick is a chief, a boss, what we're saying is it lacks employees and subalterns

When art is art for the sake of creating it, it loses its purpose and meaning.

It was a voice with a message. The lives it reflected was it's lifeblood. Now, is it reflecting or projecting? From party songs, street tales, cautionary tales, coming of age, vivid story telling, love poetry, politics, ethical conundrums etc. Now the music sounds the same and everyone complains about it. The music that is different, everyone complains about it.

I hope Kdot doesn't wait 10 years for another album (even though he earned that right and could afford it as well)
