How does building pyramids made of stone help our environment? shyt serves no purpose for an alien to do that. Given they would have to travel thousands of lightyears and that's what they choose to do?
There are probably planets that support life that are much closer to a space faring civilization to explore. This comes back to people thinking humans are special, we aren't. A species advanced enough to travel lightyears would shyt all over us intellectually and militarily. Look at the way humans treat eachother, you think aliens would be benevolent? Well I've never met Aliens and you clearly have. So that's the reason that I'm not in a position to make assumptions about their motivations or goals. I can't only come from the same point as you and base my opinion from that. What I know from living on Earth is that life that is astronomically (lol) more intelligent than another life form- will take interest and want to study and attempt to communicate with it. Look at the way humans treat each other, as you said. The more advanced we get, our behavior gets no better. We don't give any more fukks... We just find better more advanced ways to destroy ourselves. Education budgets don't increase as much as predatory drone and weapons budgets. The Koch brothers just dump a bunch of toxic waste on Detroit. What makes you assume that a group of beings even more technologically advanced, who can also travel through space covering light years in a shorter time than us.... will be be morally superior to us? They might look at the little bit of humanity we have left and be like damn... "I wish we could form communities like that" or "it's admirable how these primitive beings hold on to primitive concepts like family and nationalism"
