APD searching for man who crashed into children, left scene

AUSTIN - Austin police is asking for the public's help in locating a man they believe struck and pinned two children underneath his Jeep and fled on foot last Thursday.

According to the Austin Police Department, at around 3:19 p.m., a man had just picked up the children from school and was towing them behind his bicycle in a trailer. The man was traveling southbound on North Hampton Drive in East Austin. As he crossed the intersection of Wheless Lane, another man -- who police said goes by "May May" or Mae Mae" -- was traveling northbound on North Hampton Drive.

The man struck the trailer as he turned onto Wheless Lane and pinned the children underneath the Jeep. The man then left the scene on foot.

The man, who police believe is seen in the released photo, was last seen wearing a white tank top and black shorts with white lettering.

The children were taken to Dell Children's Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call 512-974-8544 or Crimestoppers at 512-472-TIPS.

I always wonder what goes through the minds of the thread starter to create a pointless thread such as this?

Random man commits crime.. So what?
