Honest question: What is a movie game?

This fight is 20 minutes long.

0:00 to 3:18=Movie
3:18 to 6:05=Fight
6:05 to 10:00=Movie
10:00 to 11:50= fight then they take control away from you again for 30 seconds of movie moments.
12:20 to 14:20 =fight
14:20 to 20:00=Movie

So in a 20 minute boss fight you spent almost 14 minutes watching the shyt and they took control away from you 3 times.

And nikkas wonder why it’s called a “movie game”


And somehow yall wanna compare that to a 15 second boss transition scene during a fight in E33

I call Sony 1st party game movie games typically because they want to tell a story 1st with cool set pieces and action scenes. A game being just fun is something they seem to struggle with and it's probably why they can't nail down creating a successful GAAS.



I'll say the last of us 2 and gow 2018 are probably the only 2 follow up games to come out of their 1st party studios in recent years that you can tell they went in with a mission to make gameplay fun and engaging 1st.
