I got to chuckle when people talk race, money, job's and cost of living. The south is the place to be if your black and want to be around other black people period. So much so that when I do go to the north, west, mid west or east I forget how unusual it is to not always be around black people.


As far as passive black people in the south thats a lie, we just dont bark at white people for no reason. Its a mutual respect, the best thing about the south is if a white person is racist they let it be known. We let them rock unless they bother us. We dont let white people walk over or disrespect us though.


If your making good money and living in some high cost of living state and your just trying to live day to day you lost. Save a couple grand, job hunt for a place in the south and BUY or build the home you want.

The only bad thing about the south is the lack of variety in alot of spots and things to do. Unless you living in New Orleans, Houston, Atlanta or parts of Fl. The school system in poorer parts of most cities down south is trash too.

But as far as being around your people or at least having the option....The south is were its at.

Population of blacks in the area surrounding ATL has gone up by 500,000. Just not as condensed. Besides when the new census comes out it'll be much higher for ATL and the surrounding counties. Atlanta is a majority black city dumb ass the ATL city population is over 50% black and that's WITH blacks moving to the surrounding counties. I know this personally.

You'll run into blacks way more frequently than NYC. 48% whites but what's the percentage of blacks? Much lower than ATL.

I agree with you but just wanted to comment on this part. Southern blacks, by and large, are more educated than western blacks. An A is a B in the south. Their educational system is more challenging compared to the west coast.

to be honest, I'm not a native south sider in the chi. I grew up just outside the westside of the chi in the suburbs (technically one block over), but I've lived out south the majority of my adult life, and I feel that the south side is my home and I love it here to be honest. I love living around my people and I wouldn't want it any other way to be reality.
