So who do we want in the draft? I think fit-wise Maluach would be great. A good lob-catching rebounding defensive big, and he and Sarr could play together. This team could be absolutely crazy defensively a couple years down the line.
Maluach probably makes more sense from a fit standpoint looking at the roster, but I like Queen as a better overall player with more upside.

best case scenario is the Jazz take the other white boy from Duke and Tre Johnson falls to the Wizard at 6

If Tre goes 5 I don’t really care who they take at 6 but i hope its not Queen

Lottery is flattened. It's not worth complete tanking anymore the way fanbases wasn't. You are better off being as good as possible then hope to get lucky.

I've started watching Maluach film and my major concern is him being pulled out by guards on switches then attacked. Otherwise that's who I want but I want to watch more film.

Watched a little of Queen as well and stylistically he got good touch near the rim, good footwork, shooting is suspect but workable. Haven't seen the full extent of his game. I was waiting for our lottery position to slot it so I can watch players with that in mind.

At 18 stylistically I want to scout Egor Demin and at 40 Im mainly a Hansen Yang guy.

But these are my initial interests.

If there's anyone else you guys are watching let me know.

I'm a fan of the videos on hardwood central on YouTube. Loads of situational footage.

Yeah it sucks but it is what it is…FO got to get in their bag and get creative with the maneuvering…I mean this is really not that deep of a draft, packaging the picks definitely has to be on the table..

I want Tre Johnson or Derik Queen.

Guys who have the offensive feel and skill.

Cedric Coward is a sleeper. His numbers are terrific. He ain’t going to Duke cause teams are noticing him

I don't even think there's that much difference out of the top two that we can't trade up to. And realistically why are people surprised. 86 percent chance we were gonna miss the first slot. A good chance we were going fifth or sixth.

I actually think the guys infront of us have tough questions and fits. Harper with a spurs team who have a bunch of guards. Ace with the sixers and maybe he ends up being mid.

I think were we sit there's stability knowing likely Cooper, Harper, VJ, Ace and Tre are gone. We can start cooking from there.

If there's someone we really wanted there's enough instability in terms of fit in the top five we might be able to do it.

I wouldn't be opposed to them. Depends on how high end they can get as scorers. Otherwise if there's no marked difference between them putting the whole and Poole or someone else scoring I don't think we need the extra buckets.

I think Maluach rim running and being a very efficient finisher will bend defenses and give us points at the rim. He has to be accounted for on the roll and dunkers spot. Also him and Sarr in the paint when they are mature will be a deterrent and we won't give up speed with those guys or be plodding unless like I said he gets pulled out in the perimeter.

He doesn't have the free throw issues that Mitchell Robinson and Gobert has so he won't be played out of rotation due to that.

I like Tre too but Queen I just don't see it in the league. Skilled but a poor athlete that will get hunted constantly on D.

I see this take a lot. Do poor athletes frequently average double doubles? Hes not flying thru the lane like Ja but he's definitely got a motor and good feet. He had a stretch where he a got double doubles in 9 out of 11 games.

Unless he gets the bag and gets lazy, I think hes gonna be a stud.

Been kinda scarce around here (ever since RTO and all....) and needed another day or so to let this sink in. Here I was only analyzing Coop/Harp/Ace, and now... But nah, I'm at peace with it. Still think we're in decent shape to do some things with these picks.

Sounds like Ace might be falling out of favor a bit. Couple mocks I saw already had him coming to us at 6. I'd be down with that. Maybe there's a stealth gem at 18, or use that to get even more draft assets.

BTW, I'll always rock with DQ, but 6 might be too rich for us, and he'll (probably) be long gone by 18. Besides, I get the feeling he's not really the Dawkins-Winger "type"...like I doubt they're going out of their way to bring him here.

But if you really wanna go for the big swing...maybe check in with the Spurs and see if #2 is up for bids. I guess they could always go w/a 3-guard set, but they've already got Fox/Castle. 6, 18, and some of our current and maybe future capital? Doubt they'd listen, but why not take the shot?
