A part of the wizards problem is they don't give players a legacy. Having alumni of the franchise who are acknowledged as great motivates the current players to play for something bigger than themselves. A legacy. I wish john will be able to spend time with the players and offer perspective

I’ll play devil’s advocate. Ted has been better by having a Bullets/Wizards Alumni program. So the OGs from the 1970s glory days are around the organization. And those afterwards as well. Like Jeff Ruland is still a scout.

But besides Wes Unseld and Phil Chenier we haven’t had alum in prominent roles.
