The thing that some people seem to forget is that when the Suns pre-started this trend way back they still had Amare for the most part and were driving to the basket a lot and shooting mid-rangers. Now enter the Warriors who have never only took 3 pts but go to the basket quite a bit but more importantly take a lot of those two (Durant, Livingston, West when he's playing, even Curry and Thompson). It's overlooked because of the splash brothers narrative and the highlights though. And unless you're Curry or, since last year, Durant, most of the threes come off good ball movement.

Basically the Warriors do a lot more than "just shoot 3s", and can stay in the game even when the 3s aren't falling. Hang around long enough, establish a rythm, and all of a sudden 3rd Quarter happens and those shots they were missing are falling.

Houston on the oher hand takes much more 3s off the dribble with little to no ball movement. Totally different shot. What happens when they arent't falling though? What we've seen these past two games.

Series was ugly indeed tbh

The problem with this analysis is that it assumes the Rockets missing 27 threes was just a fluke, random occurrence.
You don't think something that hasn't ever happened before and may not happen ever again...or at least won't happen for another 20 years...isn't a fluke or random occurrence?

Facts Steph Curry ruined the game lowkey. All these kids growing up to not care about fundamentals only wanting to chuck 3s and shoot trash in cans yelling "Curry" instead of "Kobe"
:francis:
I talked to the basketball coach at the school I work at and he says most of his players stay trying to do those deep Curry 3s. He's constantly hitting the :snoop: now lol

Live your own life
not unless you make the midrange shots worth 3 pts as well

if youre a volume shooter and shoot 50% from the 2 youre getting the same amount of points as if youre shooting 33% from the 3...you gotta understand that math doesnt lie...and making 3s at 33% if you have a shot is generally easier than shooting 50% from the midrange
33% shooting from deep will have a team fall behind by a long margin. The dueces will always win.
CP3>Steph is what this series has told me.
No..Just No..

I'd like to see them experiment for a season and take the 3pt line away.
This will never happen because of the entertainment/business aspect. If it was just about the game and establishing who the best basketball players and basketball teams were, this would be the obvious logical move though. The emphasis/reliance on the 3 has really distorted the game and what its really about.
The Warriors had a lot to do with 7 for 44. Like Floyd has a lot to do with boxers having extremely low accuracy v. Him
The rockets missed tons of wide open looks. So did the Celtics and Cavs in their game 7.

Both game 7's were some infuriating ball to watch from a neutral fan perspective, being a fan of these teams has to be nauseating

Hakeem had to have been :mindblown: in his seat yesterday. Capella was feasting on the paint, then they reduced him to "just D up and go after our bricks". GS could have been put away in the 3rd with smart buckets, drawn fouls and without a single 3 being taken

I tried, but this new NBA ain't for me
Capela was feasting off the penetration of our guards that y’all claim didn’t happened. Make capela take more than one step and he’s highly liable to travel. We got Clint his buckets by getting to the paint. y’all fools not listening. We don’t have the personnel who can shoot the midrange. And then people are forgetting who we played in the other side of the floor. Yep we lost to the GSW big three who are historically some of the best shooters in the league(history) so yeah it looks even worst when you see them spraying from all over the court but they have that luxury because those players have that skill set. If y’all had to sit their and watch Ariza, Tucker, green jack up midrange shots then you would be complaining about them bricking them shots.

Ppl are being naive or unrealistic about what should’ve happened last night.

They could have attempted to do literally anything OTHER than what they were doing on offense in the second half and the results would have been better.

naw they were bricking WIDE OPEN 3s. Mayb about 12-13 of those 3s were wide open. Like a poster said if they even made 10/27 mid range shots instead of 0/27 from three they rockets woulda won by double digit

The juelzing in that post...like dudes weren't watching the same game where drives to the basket and and layups were being made in between bricked 3s.

Rockets fans so distraught over that collapse they can't even be honest with themselves :wow:
