because this is offensive.

plenty of people have elevated emceeing & lyricism before rakim even stepped on the scene.

and busy bee was more of a party-rap/crowd controller type of guy. he wasn't what you would call a serious mc back in his day.

and on the flip, nas has sounded stiff for well over a decade now. but I'm not gonna say nas has been surpassed by anybody that debuted in that timeframe, even if they style over his beats.

you can say that illmatic & "paid in full" are equals, but after that rakim still has his 2 follow-ups. nas doesn't even have any other consensus classics.

lol.

I remember this.
IWW is better than ANY rakim album aside from Paid in full

You've been slightly brainwashed my brother.
I struggle to understand why you'd PROBABLY listen to rakim overall.
rakim is a fairly tale nikka,Ice is that real shyt.

II could of used someone like too short. But too short is sooooo much better ,that's a given.

I can never be brainwashed, its just the same reason you just mentioned.

Ice T's "noteworthy" songs I would take over Rakims noteworthy songs, but Ice T's non noteworthy songs are weaker than Rakims to me.

Just begs the question of what is a "noteworthy" record to @bigbadbossup2012 since he thinks Rakim didn't have five of them per album. But he always backs down when challenged so... :yeshrug:

i brought that up because of rakim's supposed goatness and supposed classic albums
on a sidenote: ross > rakim
Then people named the noteworthy songs and you dismissed them, so it begs the question of what's a noteworthy record to you. But you'll continue to duck.
