His peak was 04 with U Gotta Feel Me, but he was on the radar with Underground Legend and The Leprechaun in 02 and 00. Flip was the reason companies started looking at Houston during that time, but a lot of people cut him short. UGK and Geto Boys date way back to the late 80s, but if it wasn't for Flip, those big deals would have never came for Mike Jones, Paul Wall, and Chamillionaire.

Hustlaz Stacking Endz >>>>>>

I thought Flip opened the doors for those cats,

Even though Big Mike and DJ DMD 25 lighters made some noise, I think Lil Flip's consistency of putting out dope underground projects brought the attention of companies down to Houston like you stated.

Lil Keke had a banger too with southside (still till this day buss that shyt in the club/parties)

no album..nikka gettin booked for shyt he said on a mixtape..

I love how nikkas was getting money without Cacs having any part of it

They owned they own stores, sold they own products, and did shows.

Then the majors came through and fukked them over :mjcry:

atlanta wave died tho...ti n luda was the only ones left..

majors saw the hustle of ..slim n swishahouse..n cham

if these nikkas doin this ...on there on...flip was doin it...n slim himself...got better shyt than flip...flip burberrying a jag...slim payin cash for bentleys..somethin up in that damn nawf...we gotta look

You can't say the ATL wave died and then act like Paul Wall, Mike Jones, Cham, and Slim Thug maintained their momentum. I mean even Flip fell ofd the map, before the Houston wave.

I'll be the first to prop up the Houston wave and how impactful it was, but it was brief. 90's Houston artists had far more longevity than the wave that came up last decade.

The Houston wave was big, but ATL struck 1st:

Lil Jon & Tha Eastside Boyz (throw in Lil' Scrappy & Trillville, and Crime Mob)
Bone Crusher
Ying Yang
T.I.

^^^ all blew up 2003-2004. That's not even mentioning how huge Kast and Luda were at the time.

Houston
Chamillionaire and Paul wall together were color changing clique.

The Color Changin' Click - Wikipedia

Later in 96, color changing clique released a classic and it could be looked at as a southern segregation point for a group outside of the ghetto boys but not the first southern segregation point from the west.

Man we know who in CCC (apparently you don't bc/ it was more than just Paul Wall and Cham in CCC)but you said they released a classic project in 96 and you still haven't answered the question as to what classic they released. As a matter of fact them nikkas aint start releasing music like that until 01-02. In 96 Screw ran Houston and the underground scene in most of The South. 3 In Da Mornin Pt2 dropped in 96 right before the Kappa and everyone in the South was playing that shyt and was KeKe break out year (Pimpin The Pen was everywhere and cats were reciting that shyt line for line). Bottom line you have no idea what you talking about when it comes to Texas/Houston music and it's influence. Southern segregation point from The West? nikka be quiet.

Edit: As a mattter of fact that was the same year Screw dropped Leanin On A Switch, Plots and Schemes, and June 27th for Christ sake.
CCC dropping a classic in 96...:childplease:
