Flip was the reason companies started looking at Houston during that time, but a lot of people cut him short. UGK and Geto Boys date way back to the late 80s, but if it wasn't for Flip, those big deals would have never came for Mike Jones, Paul Wall, and Chamillionaire.

Even though Big Mike and DJ DMD 25 lighters made some noise, I think Lil Flip's consistency of putting out dope underground projects brought the attention of companies down to Houston like you stated.
