Never heard Chicago mentioned as a foodie city before this thread. On my visits there I’ve found the food to be mid. On the social sites it seems to be overrun with peopl going to Houston to eat/party. The answer is easily Houston.
Never? That’s a shock. Chicago was always rated highly for its food. Hell the taste of Chicago is world renowned. It’s the largest food fest in the world.

Chicago has always been a popular foodie destination. The Taste of Chicago was the worlds largest food festival. Only since Houston's population damn near doubled over the past 10 years, it was never viewed as a food destination.

Just depends on what you're in the mood for. I personally think Houston has more variety but Chicago's specialties and fine dining are top notch.

I follow this guy and he puts me onto a lot of spots I didn't even know about.

"Never heard Chicago mentioned as a foodie city before this thread."

People are telling you that Chicago has been known as being a foodie/dining mecca for a long time.
I understand that but I clearly said I've been to Chicago. I'm there 3-4 times a year for work. Haven't been impressed but maybe I'm hitting the wrong spots. So for all the pro-Chicago folks please list places I should patron. Cost is no concern because I T&E it.

South Side Chicago to Nola
Few years ago I would’ve said Chicago but the older I get I realize Chicago food is basically just cooked junk food

Gonna have to give it to Houston

What are these Houston spots that aren’t serving cooked junk food, and are relative to houston specifically like not no Cajun spot because that’s their neighbor Louisiana
What are the good spots in Chicago
Depends on what you looking for
