I didn't know ghost a Rae where fan favs above meth. Ghost is def my fav out the crew
Method Man was at the time the most popular member of the Wu, and that's the reason they went with his single first. Ghost and Rae gained more popularity later on and plenty of people always considered them better rappers, but as far as mainstream popularity Meth was the dude. Hell, even to this day Meth is the most known/popular member of the Wu; maybe an argument could be made for The RZA.

Some people are confusing best rapper with most popular/notable.

BTW care to take me up on my challenge? :sas1:

Name me a go-go band that has ever covered Wu-Tang song since they were sooooooo popular over here it should be easy, right?

Should be a simple task right? Given their supposed popularity in the city & region?

I mean every other "great" rap group or artist from that era has cover songs...why not the WU? :sas2:

Breh breh...im in forestville/district heights/suitland on a weekly basis...sometimes 2-3 times a week...nobody is listening to no cotdamn wu-tang out there...nor have there ever been any wu-tang played within the city limits EVER IN HISTORY :mjlol:

And somehow a forestville resident who also manages to be a wu fan :mjlol: can knock this out for me...right?

Breh again my homie was talking about 95 for one and I wasn't going there but I wasn't going to call him a liar seeing as how who in the fukk would lie about what music they were or weren't listening to? Shyt ain't that serious. 2nd of all, if you want to call a man you don't know a liar, seems pretty pathetic and sad to me but hey, :yeshrug: if that's how you roll that's how you roll. And again, just because YOU or your circle doesn't listen to it doesn't mean cats don't listen to it. Get your head out your ass for a second or two breh.

Actually... I'm the one being called a liar here. :pachaha:

I made a FACTUAL statement about the general musical tastes of the folks in MY CITY and i get barraged with all these :duck:

And you wanna know how it's true that WU has always been a non-factor in this city?

Because you can't show me anything like this...with WU's music being covered like every other relevant artist has got there's done.

Back covering Pac & Snoop

Back covering 3-6 Mafia

I can pull up dozens of these with all the rappers i named...while you'll be able to pull up none for WU.

You know cotdamn well nikkas generally don't listen to WU over here...you just an oddball nikka with eclectic tastes...which is cool i have em too. But don't pretend like the exception is the norm.

Breh AGAIN, I'm not arguing against you I'm saying that your blanket statement of "NO ONE IN THIS AREA LISTENED TO WU-TANG CLAN:mjlol:" is insane and you know that. I listen to Wu most definitely and most of my homies do with a couple of exceptions but I'm saying the older heads I knew when I was a kid, whether they were in middle school or high school, all listened to Wu. Now whether they were the norm or not the norm, that's what I knew as a young dude growing up around here. Whether it was Meth, ODB, Rae, or Cream or anything from Forever. I know Wu isn't as popular around our way like a lot of the shyt you referenced, that's cool, we are in agreement there, but I'm also not going to sit and act like no one listened to them cause that's clearly not the case. And again, I'm going off of anecdotal evidence my dude, based on my experiences. Your experiences are different that's perfectly cool but the point I'm making is that unlike you, I don't believe that my blanket statement is true across the board. If a dude who graduated from Mac in 95 is telling me that's what they were listening to, who the fukk am I to argue with him? Doc Brown?

Which is why i said "in general" or "generally speaking" in just about every post.

If 99% of the DC metro region is not listening to their music and never has listened to their music...then i believe it's fair to state that practically noone listens to Wu-Tang over here.
