One has nothing to do with the other IMO

You can be athletic all you want but some sports actually require SKILLS. Basketball requires more SKILL than football. Depending on the position you play you can be a beast at football just because you are physically gifted.

Football is one of those sports that is unconventional because you are being called an ATHLETE but you dont have to be athletic to be compete at its highest level.
As someone who grew up playing many different sports i can list a load of things that makes football the most unconventional mainstream sport

Watching most offensive and defensive linemen and referring to them as athletes is one of the biggest jokes ever
Defensive lineman are mos def good athletes...So are most centers and pulling guards... They just might not "look" that way next to Megatron...

How many pro basketball players can say they played both sports and failed at one? It's rare because most great basketball players were never even good enough to "fail" on a division I football level. The football players you're bringing up failed up.
I don't think its that they weren't good enough.. I think they just made the most reasonable business decision...

Charlie Ward might be the only example of what I think you're talking about...

No....they weren't good enough. Which is why they're not even good enough to sniff the collegiate level of football. Most players go into college where they make those decisions. Most coming out of HS great basketball players never had football as an option because they were never good enough to. :heh:

But I think we can all agree here that there are only 1 or 2 positions that basketball players can transition into

Not to mention, many can make the argument that graham is a product of this pass happy era. You're not gonna see him down blocking on an end. He's not gonna lead a power sweep.

All these tight ends are great receivers and pure ass in a 3point stance. In fact, in fact, jermichael finley tried to get a WR contract out of us because he said,"the amount of snaps/the type of snaps he played made him a wide receiver." Think about that. I think these new age TE's are just slower WRs. They really all have the body length of Plaxico, but aren't nearly as fast enough, or agile enough to play out on the edges all the time.

anyone stop and realize the motor skills, in coordination w/ the respective cognitive abilities and conditioning, required to dribble a basketball, score, and make split second decisions against elite level athletes? The mental and physical aptitude necessary to excel in b-ball is extraordinary. This isnt emphasized of course, because basketball is dominated by coloreds, so b-ball is positioned as bunch of mindless jungle bunnies who were born with the basketball gene....if whites were dominating the NBA, you would hear about how difficult it is to play basketball endlessly.

So are you arguing that Michael Jordan wouldn't be superior at QB to what Dan Marino would be at SG?

:mjpls:

Craig Ehlo would give Marino the business

:what:
or maybe they were forced to choose bball early and it was an easy decision considering the time and wear and tear that occurs with football. you know how many times the football coach at my high school would come at us bball players like "Please come out and play football next year!" :damn:
there's no way you're telling me that an athletic basketball player can't transition into a WR or TE easily. the only issue is if they have hands and the mindset for football. meanwhile, football nikkas try out for basketball and are highly functioning goons at best

I was a 3-time High School All American at WR/QB/DE/CB, Coaches for each of the top 10 schools in the nation flew to Harlem to personally soak my mother's feet and each one promised me a starting job at whatever position I felt like playing. I was like "sorry coach, but I want an actual challenge mentally and athletically," and played basketball instead.

It hasn't been done yet. Yet football plaeyrs have been transitioning to other sports frequently.
