I'm a Nas fan but damn some of y'all are really stupid. Please get off that holier than thou mentality and get in touch with reality.
:ld:

@blackslash putting in work, sonning these dumb posters while making valid points :blessed:

As far as discographies goes, Ghostface, Scarface, and Jay are in the same discussion (won't talk about Pac cause i don't really fukk with his music like that :manny:)

Merry Xmas eve brehs.

Question, stanley...if one hasnt sold drugs, or lived an insanely wealthy lifestyle filled with a rotation of dime bytches and maybachs, then how is it possible to relate to Jay's music? The other two artists, Scarface and Ghostface, have broached a diverse set of topics, same with Nas, and certainly didnt fixate their artistic material on elitist trappings and nihilistic activity. Dont try to put Jay in that company.

Please stop being so butt hurt breh. You're acting like a lil bytch right now I'm not stanning everyone. just stating facts. :yeshrug:

You're calling me stannley and then you say what every jay-z butt hurt hater say about him. :mjpls:

I never sold drugs nor did live a luxury life (yet :shaq:) but i cant relate to some of his songs..
Jay's set of topic is very diverse. You can say he has a song for every mood. But if you've never listen to him or if you're a biased Nas groupie then there's no point is having a discussion with you Stan.

Jay has a song for every mood. Same goes for nas, Ghost, Scar and probably Cube.

Common is underrated too.:yeshrug:

Im not going to write a thesis and all that because its not that serious but Nas is more versatile.

Nas has street records, party records, storytelling, conceptual records. I do agree Jay does the party songs better than Nas but everything else there's no comparison. Can Jay go and make an album with a Marley son?:shaq2: If anything Jay stays in a certain lane and follows whatever is current. The only time he stepped out his box was when he released that DOA track. Nas could constantly reinvent himself but then critics would discredit the work and say "Its not Illmatic". So lets not act like Jay isn't out there pandering :whoa:

I agree Nas is more versatile,Hate Me Now wuz the shyt and one of the best commercial records of all time:whew:.....but who cares:russ:,doin a bunch of concept records and emotional concious/social records wouldn't fit his image and character at all.....Jay does what he's supposed to do at the very highest level....the way he he had that ice cold demeanor even on songs where he was spittin about his guilt from slangin, and on records meant to be emotional where he showed no emotion at all that right there all worked for JayZ....I didn't want Jay soundin emotional like Scarface and don't want him emo,it fits his character as a hustler with ice in his veins who's arrogant and only care about himself at the end of the day:obama:...he started fallin off to me when he started usin voice inflection, soundin happy and shyt:snoop:...no nikka bring that even tempered monotone delivery back nikka:ohlawd:...Jay is one of few rappers who get a pass for not showin emotion imo.

End of the day Nas a better rapper than Cube but Cube executed his concepts far better than Nas imo overall, and he simply has the better catalogue undeniably...in doin what he does Nas ain't the best at it,whereas Jay is:salute:....Nas will always be in the discussion Cube should just always come first

Right after u talk about Pac:pachaha: ya favorite rappers favorite rapper who's they favorite rapper combined in one rapper:obama:

jay has hit the commercial lane fast and running and good luck to him. However, if you were to take a critical scan of his discography only Hard Knock Life was a solo track that hit the biG time biG time. All his other smashes have been duets involving F Brown, Beyonce, Ri, A Keys, Kanye.

If we are talking about stand alone artist, creativity and the ability to bounce back from being counted out of the game NAS has absolutely no EQUAL. I diG Jay. He's incredibly intelligent, ambitious and can rap like a mofo but since the end of the 88 golden era he stands no.3 behind Tupac & Nas. Illmatic was genius but dude has not let the greatest rap album of all time hang like a thorn cross around his neck. It Was Written, (pre-internet) I AM, Stillmatic, God's Son, Untitled, Life is Good are incredible works of music art. Let's still with the facts. Nas is incomparable so and let's 4get c?p talk about Rak?m and KRS-1 (both of whom I've seen in their prime) coz as the Queensbridge don once rapped: 'where are they now' lol

I mean lets be real here. Most of us know Nas has the greatest catalog in the history of hip hop. I know music is subjective but what other rapper has a better catalog?

Krs still has the best discography, and criminal minded set the actual rubrick.
Every rap album of any genre that is created or will be created, will be judged.

Stop trying to revise history for one of the worst closer culture thieves in rap history.
The shyt he did is along the lines of puff.
As a matter of fact,...he gave away a blueprint.
That allowed every sellout ny rapper and rapper after him.
To be able to craft records and attempt to float above cultural and artistic criticism.
It did not work, though.
Real bboys call has exactly for what he is,...
The anti Christ of hip hop.
Judas of the hip hop knights of the templar.
Nas is a much bigger jiggy sellout, than puff or jay.

Jay-Z and 2pac have better catalogs. Nas released a few turds (Nastradamus and I Am) and has never matched Illmatic (everything since Stillmatic has been GOOD but no CLASSICS). Jay has Blueprint, Black Album and of course RB. Pac's entire catalog is classic.
