Black people don’t seem as sharp as we did back in the day in general.

I was just thinking the same exact thing. I was watching some talk show clips from the early 90’s, and the Black people in the audience were able to clearly and concisely deliver their points. Today? A lot of us can’t even say what we have to say without stumbling on our words or rambling incoherently. Something definitely changed

The pervasiveness of mass media has affected all accents across the country. :francis:

i've noticed that suburban people from various parts in america all sound like the same mufukka. shyt is weird AF :mindblown:. especially early to mid 20's suburban people.

They're too spread out and too sheltered compared to everyone else so they pick up a lot of things from the tv and movies. :francis:

Interesting question
It seems like cadence changes over the years for all races. That's why white people don't talk with that Nucky Thompson "yaaah wanda say" 1920s cadence either :dwillhuh:
Southern brehs and mid west black folks still have that cadence heavy.

Sounds like northern brehs have been white washed

Same way Italian/Irish Americans took over the northeast defacto caccent is honestly the same way Caribbean Americans took over the northeast defacto blaccent
