this is it.

the biggest dre / snoop / 50 cent songs are damn near pop songs. they are catchy and white kids in middle america can follow along and sing the hook.

DJ quik is more for music heads. He has catchy songs but he didn't really pop like that in the South and East Coast. His subject matter is limited and his sound is funk influenced so the boom-bap backpackers don't rock with him too tough either.

yeah it's a big part why Dre and Snoop were even able to reach "middle" (:mjlol:) america to be showcased on shyt like "Bangin' in Little Rock" way back

Quik's proteges were successful but didn't blow up to the level of Dre's/NWA's proteges. Plus Quik's sound was dope but it was more musical and more instrumental. Dre and his ghost producers had more funk mixed with boom bap street shyt sound which went further on the charts, clubs, and riding in whips

Similar to Too $hort...

Talks too much about pus*y and a lot of rah-rah shyt on top of primarily being regional...I always fuked with him tho he's in my top 10 of Hip-Hop producers.

His best asset is his production skills.

I usually play some of his shyt during the summer in NYC when I'm trying to vibe to something.

Also, Rhythm-Al-Ism>>>> Safe + Sound.
