Someone lied to everybody and said he was a superstar: he believed it, coaches believed it, executives believed it, delusional Knicks fans believed it, heck half of the Coli believed it

Anybody with half a brain and looking at a 4th quarter of him playing in an NBA Playoff game could quickly come to the conclusion that he's an overhyped scorer with 0 leadership skills, no eye for the game (low basketball IQ, it's just rinse and repeat the same moves regardless of the situation, no way to appreciate the weight of situations) who can't take over a game or influence a team to do so.

Somebody lied.
:ehh:its cold but its true

he was never a top tier athlete to begin with and used dribble moves and post ups to score, and that can carry you well into your 30s like Paul Pierce. But dude doesn't even look like an NBA player anymore. What the hell happened?
great thread
i have always thought it would
the issue is the games pace has changed and midrange jumpers and inefficitent scorers are disdained

also iso ball is now correctly viewed as having a detrimental effect on team morale.

that plus his game was never catch and shoot but rather beat you to a spot and pull ups and it makes more sense

but i still wonder tho
i used to argue melo was as good as bron during rookie year

Father Time is undefeated (expect for LeBron who still looks like a 22 year old)

Wade, Melo, Kobe, Dirk, TD, KG, they all turned flabby in their late 30s and can’t be in shape like the young guys.

Bron probably has the GOAT genes. Scientists need to study him
but melo is only 33yo
also bron is prob on some ped or hghs not knocking him but i mean cmon

Because hes old and was only a average athlete when he was young

Dudes like that usually fall off a cliff in the early 30s

You’ll understand once you get old
agree but the thing is as i got older i started to understand so much more about the game of basketball
when i hit 30 i really really learnt how to control the game without scoring
focusing on passing and defense etc

his game ispure offense and its just shocking to see that evaporate

James harden is an iso player and is about to win the mvp. the game now likes iso players who are also playermakers. Melo never developed his passing game.

We see things that stun us and we don't see some things that would equally shock us, and as far as the things that we don't see i guarantee his diet for an athlete is horrendous shyt is obvious. You cannot have a top tier athlete fueled with bullshyt, cause it reflects in his body. When he retires he gonna look like Antoine "suitjacket" Walker.
