went down too easy, im not gonna say size. Tomlinson/Sanders/Charles/Westbrook and many others weighed less than him, just had better IQ and ran harder
he also played the 2nd half of his career with a piece of his brain knocked out![]()
Reggie got to caught up in the fame and didn't work hard early in his career to gain a few pounds of muscle so he could withstand the punishment of running between the tackles. He didn't have the smallest frame and probably could have carried an easy 5-8 pounds of muscle which would have helped him a great deal instead of just looking for the edge most of the time. That plus the Saints should have been using him in a hybrid role with like 8-12 carries a game 3-4 catches thrown his way punt returns and I would have had him catch kickoff returns. Maybe even a reverse or two a game. But he would could have thrived touching the ball 20 times a game. It just should have been in a utility role. Just imagine Bush in the slot against the average LB or Safety.
Because he is a bit undersized, remember the pros aren't chasing and hitting you in college.

Was he really touching the ball that much though? And after his first season has he ever caught anymore passes then that year? Reggie should have been in the slot on the edges everywhere and I don't remember that though I cant say I watched a great deal of Saints games either.Aside from kickoff returns, Reggie was used in that capacity.
Hell, I can still remember Payton costing us a home game against the Buccaneers in 2007 by using him on a fukkery double reverse, which he fumbled.![]()
Bruh was listed at 205 but I don't think he was really that much when he was drafted. Plus that was the biggest knock against him coming out of USC.I think his weight was just fine 205 at 5'10 and 24 reps of 225 bench press,he was strong enough, just didn't pan out
He learned to be average.Seems like everyone is forgetting his days in Miami when he proved everyone wrong and that he can be a feature back and run between the tackles
I was at that gameHe looked really human against top competition in college but everybody let that fresno state game go to their heads
I'm not a football guy but it's mad interesting to hear brehs discuss the nuances of running like this.
So just being fast and tough doesn't make you a good running back? Things like running patiently are big deals too?![]()
