Why do some people say it’s cheap and others say cost of living is sky high? Imma assume the newcomers from Chicago, LA, NYC think it’s cheap and imma assume it’s probably sky high to other southerners.

I’ve had people from Kentucky tell me ATL is too pricey for them.
He is being sarcastic/facetious
Houston is cheap but give it two more years
3 max if the influx of people keep moving here
Austin is little San Francisco now
It’s still “relatively” cheap for housing per square foot
But it’s not what it used to be in the 90s/00s
Dallas is seeing the same influx and price raising
The more concentrated these cities
Prices will inevitably increase
Rent in Houston used to be decent
But now they taxin everywhere
Charging $750-$800 for an apartment off Beechnut/Spice Lane:picard:

The cost of living is going up in every city but wages cost of living is stagnant. We just had a meeting at our job about this because covid aka plandemic finesse virus 2020 is bout to fuk up the job market n real estate game up. It's hella empty ass condos downtown mfs can't afford $2000 rent plus $250-300 parking with utilities every month. I was thinking bout moving back to ATL n buy my first house but I'm single no kids so I would be living in a 3-4 bedroom crib with extra rooms for storage but I'll save alot of money compared to paying $2k plus a month in a 40-50 floor building looking over the beach. Everybody Ik either moved to ga tx va even Cali (unless they already plugged in already) ain't nun wrong with changing up your environment for the best just make sure you don't have no regrets I see it all time. If it wasn't for ATL being a black hot bed city for entertainment alot of transplants wouldn't be there.

Chicago's South Shore
I remember a news story I watched last year mentioned that with the influx of folk moving down to Houston, that Chicago would be in danger of losing their 3rd Largest City recognition to Houston in a few years it If continues. And this was pre-Covid and prior to rich/wealthy cacs lambasting about Chicago being “out of control” with crime and looting, and considering moving as a result.

And yea this is gonna drive prices up in all aspects down there. I remember when seemingly a lot of Chi folk were moving to Arizona, hell I think there’s a Harold’s, and possibly a Portillo’s, up there. But I thought most of Those transplants were White (I know some of Them have also preferred Florida). Now Black Chicagoans moving to ATL, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee...I’ve kinda peeped those already so I’m not surprised.
