Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
"Kaw-fee" "Wore-der"

Folks in Niagara Falls sound totally different from ny city. Even Buffalo brehs

These people have accents mostly related to the Midwest. There are few words Buffalo dudes say you can hear some Detroit/Cleveland in their tone.

and Buffalo is a 6 hour drive from NYC.

That sounds about right.
Im sure people from NY probably think Houston and Dallas people sound the same. (If they havent been in tx for years)

no they don’t. And they sound very different.

but I’m into accents so maybe I notice it. Others might not but Yella beezy said people confuse his Dallas accent as being Memphis

:what: Duh, that's where we all from.

You trolling? I’ve been to Charleston SC before and the regular accent there is either southern or the Caribbean sounding dialect from the geechie/Gullah.

My homeboy who is born and raised there however has no accent that resembles anyone from there and if you heard him speak you would think he was born and raised on 125th street.

Mind you he’s only lived in NYC for 10 years outside of his life and he is in his mid 30s.

The same way white New Yorkers don’t sound like black new Yorkers is also the same way white Bostonians don’t sound like black Bostonians, it kills me when people do this. I get asked if I’m from 2 places when I leave mass and go down south or out west. New York or Toronto

Tell me how cousin stizz sound like he fresh out from Boston

He sounds like he could be from NY. But his Boston accent comes out when he pronounces Boston

Because a lot of you all watch too much TV and have a stereotypical idea of how a New Yorker sounds :russ:

People are influenced by the borough in which they were raised, schooling, cultural background of their family and socioeconomic background

They think everybody tawks like youse guys like an Italian or Irish mobster. :mjlol: Even when that accent was prominent, Black people from NY didn't sound like that.

The 718
Connecticut is part of what they call the Tri State (CT,NY,NJ) It’s metropolitan New York so the influence will be visible. At the same time you also have some parts of CT where they sound like people from Baahston and Rhode Island. Geography plays a big part.
Yup...as a kid I lived in a part of Connecticut that was close to NYC and as a whole felt more like Rockland and Westchester County NY than any New England place.
