If, for instance, you are looking to control your weight — and shallowly or not, I am — running wins, going away. In a study published last month in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, and unambiguously titled “Greater Weight Loss From Running than Walking,” researchers combed survey data from 15,237 walkers and 32,215 runners enrolled in the National Runners and Walkers Health Study — a large survey being conducted at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, Calif.
Participants were asked about their weight, waist circumference, diets and typical weekly walking or running mileage both when they joined the study, and then again up to six years later.
The runners almost uniformly were thinner than the walkers when each joined the study. And they stayed that way throughout. Over the years, the runners maintained their body mass and waistlines far better than the walkers.

Of course if these hoes is super huge they gota walk more but running is greater then walking.
See, this is all I wanted.

Really, I just wanted illustrate that walking isn't just an excuse not to run.

A lady 50 lbs over weight isn't gonna be able to start off as Lola Jones and run every way.

It's easier to walk for 25 mins straight (no breaks), than, it is to run 25 mins straight (no breaks). After 25 mins of runnin', the average person is done, if you've only been walking, you prolly good for another 25.

But, for cardo, of course; runnin' >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>walkin'.

@Desirous

And women also need to stop being scared of lifting weights. They think 25 minutes a day is gonna try them into a jacked up bodybuilder, when, that's not even the case for us.

Those guys use supplements to be able to lift for hours and hours to get that big. It's even harder for women, because, they dont naturally produce enough testosterone to be able to develop muscles like men.

But, I'm always open to be told I'm wrong---but, I got feelings, too :to:

So you want these women to cut water weight and re hydrate the weight back?

Or do you want them to lose fat?

And boxers/wrestlers rehydrate that same night after they weigh in btw not the following week.
Wrong depends on the day of the fight.

With some fights it's the same day or next. Some also the following weeks.

@yo moms is a amateur boxer he can shed light on it

I mean, making a simple change to one's diet (not drinking soda, for instance) could have you losing 15 pounds that first month - easy.

My point still remains. One is instant and one takes weeks and months. Also, depending on the woman's size, lean muscle mass, and etc some are going to lose weight faster than others. Those body composition factors are also the reason that men may see results faster (in the short-term).

In regard to your example, depending on how much soda they drink, that is probably about 1-2 pounds per week. Multiple articles say cutting soda equals about 16 pounds year. The max average I've seen is 20 pounds over 6 months.

Again, one things takes consistency and delayed gratification the other provides instant gratification. It's really a very simple explanation to why SOME choose one over the other. You asked for reasons and I gave them (similar to everyone in the thread). It doesn't mean I agree with the mindset.

When people consistently pig out they are usually bloated - mostly due to the sodium intake. The more fat you are - the more water weight you can carry. That's why the initial weight drop is usually a pretty big one for fatties but it obviously won't be that way consistently. That's a pretty fast result if you ask me, though. Furthermore, if SOME women only want instant gratification then why are they willing to do facials and acne treatments for months on end before any results become apparent? Nah, there is something else at play here. I think SOME women simply look down on exercise because of this disgusting "fat acceptance" culture.
