But Jay getting love at Georgetown though... known for its academics AND its athletics through basketball.

You know... dualities. And you don't even have to ask me how. :manny:

Just to troll.... You could argue that with Mike Dean and Travis Scott on tracks that there was still a Ye influence especially Crown.

Not trolling at all. Also Ye wanted "Holy Grail and Oceans" on WTT. Ye's influence is there. "Crown" is a lost "Yeezus/Cruel Summer/WTT" track. But like "American Gangster" outside of an Adlib. KanYe was missing. Why is it Jay's two Best Post-Retirement Albums and KanYe doesn't have a single beat? Interesting fact. But there's one producer I miss most. JUST BLAZE. This was the Last Just Blaze Beat did for Jay and it was a Classic which was the close out of American Gangster.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I think people are underestimating how much the PUBLIC likes the album. And no I'm not saying "Sales = Quality" but I think there is a difference from how the Public feels about the album then the critics. "Yeezus" got critical accliam but I feel the Public was lukewarm on it. Where as "MCHG" got mixed reviews but people are calling this Jay's best album in years. So "MCHG" is probably going end up going 3x Platinum when it's all said and done. Remember he hasn't even official released a single. And we all know he has about 5 songs on here that can be big singles. Also believe it or not the only reason "Blueprint 3" was so big was cause the singles were huge. The album cuts were lukewarm.

Nah..actually..most people I see in the public don't fukk it wit it like that but maybe u experience somethin different..but this has been his most awkwardly received album ive seem from him yet..either way...it sold cause the shyt literally popped outta nowhere and people was curious to hear what it was about...there wasnt even enough room for nikkas to bootleg it...plus..it's Jay...all that needs to be said...

If Jay has a new album out people will buy it. And then you got the samsung deal (although I dont even know if its actually a million who copped the app but that channel of purchase out there being free helps it)

So let me get this straight.

MCHG was announced a little less than a month before its release date, had commercials, and got promoted through a Samsung deal with a million copies given away for free.

Yet Jay sold more first week with MCHG with NO single than he did with BP3 with all the DOA hype and the huge single with "Run This Town" with Rihanna and Kanye...

Matter of fact, he sold more first week than Blueprint 1 AND The Black Album. And behind 4 rap albums that dropped within the span of a month.

How did the hell did he do it? :wtf:

Buzz Was crazy, social media, forums, act seemed to be dominated w/ anticipation of the album.

i think that announce an album and then drop it a couple weeks later strategy is the move.. keeps all the buzz concentrated right before the release.

its funny too because just 2 years ago when WTT dropped there was the whole "jay piggybacking off kanyes hype & acclaim to stay relevant" talk :laff:

Magna Carta - 528k first week
Yeezus - 328k first week

So many haters losing with the release of this Album... :russ:
